The superior accuracy and sensitivity of 18F-FDG-PET/CT in comparison to morphological imaging alone leads to an upstaging in up to 30% of lymphoma patients. This paper presents an investigation on the performance of ZnO nanorod (ZNR)-based piezoelectric nanogenerators (PENGs). ZNRs on the ZnO seed layer coated double-sided flexible polyethylene terephthalate (PET) at different molar concentrations (0.01, 0.05 and 0.1 M) were synthesized by controlling the aspect ratio (length/diameter) of ZNRs, that are closely related to the piezoelectric output potential voltage using a simple hydrothermal method.

Zinc as a biomarker can be used to diagnose the early stage prostate cancer, while ZIP1 protein, a zinc transporter is significantly down-regulated in prostate cancer cells. This behavior leads to the apparent alteration of the enrichment ability for zinc between early prostate cancer tissues and healthy tissues. This difference inspires us to develop a novel Zn2+ sensor that applies to the clinic diagnosis of early prostate cancer.

Rice husks were combined with unsaturated polyester resin, synthesized from glycolysed product of poly (ethylene terephthalate) (PET) waste to form rice husk (RH)/polyester composites. PET from post-consumer soft drink bottles was recycled through glycolysis, followed by polyesterified with maleic anhydride and then cross-linked with styrene to produce a formulation for the resin. Characterizations of the synthesized resin were performed by hydroxyl, acid values and Fourier Transform Infra Red (FTIR) techniques.

A 13 year old, male, intact, non-descriptive dog weighing 23 kg was brought to Madras Veterinary College Teaching Hospital at small animal out patient surgery unit, with a history of progressive painful swelling at the left elbow joint. On clinical examination the mass was hard, irregularly contoured and the pet evinced mild pain on palpation. Fine needle aspiration cytology was performed to identify the nature of cells and to confirm the diagnosis which revealed Fibroma.

A pet Indian Mongoose was presented to TVCC, OUAT for castration. Castration was performed by open method using scrotal incision under general anaesthesia. This was done to control the violent nature of the animal. The surgical intervention was performed under general anaesthesia. Post operative care was advised for 7 days.

To assess metabolic tumor response using 18F-FDG PET/CT scan in early stage non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) treated by CyberKnife radiosurgery. Materials and Methods: 30 patients were diagnosed proven by biopsy and inoperable stage I NSCLC, and were enrolled into this study. 18F-FDG PET/CT was performed prior to the program, and at three months following the radiosurgery treatment. The tumor maximum standardized uptake value (SUVmax) was recorded for each time point and the PERCIST criteria was applied to assess tumor response.
