Turmeric planting is a laborious and time consuming field operation when performed manually. The semi-automatic Turmeric planters are operate due to limitations on manual feeding rates of finger which vary with respect to work duration and skill of the operator. Automation in the field of Turmeric planters has provided opportunities for savings in labour and time required for planting operation in open field and controlled environmental structures. The advent and recent advances in planting technologies suggest ample scope of working on automated Finger pickup and drop mechanisms.

Low cost technologies developed for turmeric production system were tested in ginger production system. Physiological workload of the selected women workers while performing selected activities in ginger production system was assessed by heart rate method. Total 46 healthy farm workers working in the field for 6-7 hrs/ day were selected for the study. Study was conducted in Pokharni, Katneshwar, Nandgaon, Bharati Camp Dist. Parbhani & Hatta, Adgaon, Satephal villages of Dist. Hingoli. For collection of data 46 female workers, three replications, 5 activities viz.

Turmeric (Curcuma longa L.) is an herbaceous perennial plant belong form the family zingiberaceae. In the present investigation, 27 genotypes from different sources of the country were taken into consideration for genetic variability analysis and evaluation of different characters as specified by the DUS characters evaluated by Indian Institute of Spices Research. Randomized Block Design was adopted for evaluating the genotypes about the performances in this region.

A field experiment was conducted at Horticultural Research Station, Adilabad (Northern Telangana Zone) of Telangana state for two consecutive years 2016 and 2017 to find out the performance of Salem variety of turmeric with two planting materials (Split and full rhizome) and three population levels (1,48,148, 74,074 and 98,765 plants ha-1 ) on raised beds. The two years study revealed that full rhizomes used as planting material showed significantly higher mean plant height of 34.20, 58.47, 80.61 and 82.68 cm at 60, 90, 120 and 150 DAP respectively.

A total of 120, day-old broiler chicks were divided randomly into 4 treatment (CRD) groups with 3 replicates each i.e. 10 broiler chicks per replicate. Chicks of treatment T1 (control) were fed basal diet without any supplementation. In the treatment group T2, T3 and T4, basal diet was supplemented with 3% garlic powder, 0.5% turmeric powder and 1.5% garlic powder plus 0.25% turmeric powder, respectively. The feeding trial lasted for 6 weeks viz., 0-3 weeks (starter phase) and 3-6 weeks (finisher phase).

Performance evaluation of tractor drawn turmeric digger was studied by conducting experiments on a test set-up having provision to vary design variables. The test set-up consists of digging unit and soil separation unit. Three digging blades are selected i.e. Strips shape, Inverted 'V' shape and Crescent shape for digger machine for comparing on field test. The design parameters - soil moisture content, rake angle of digging unit and speed of operation of digger machine were evaluated.
