This investigation was carried out in the Experimental Farm at Ghazala Village (Faculty of Agriculture, Zagazig University, Egypt) during two successive seasons (2014/2015 and 2015/2016) to study the effect of rice straw burning (rice straw plowing down and rice straw burning), phosphorus (P) level (0 and 15.5 kg P2O5/fad [fad = faddan = 4200 m2 and ha = 2.38 fad]), and nitrogen (N) level (30, 60 and 90 kg N/fad) on wheat (Triticum aestivum L. cv. Gemmiza 11).

Phosphorus deficiency is a major limiting factors for affecting crop production globally. To understand the genetic variation of phosphorus-deficiency-tolerance, a total of 15 seedling traits were evaluated among 707 Chinese wheat landraces under application of phosphorus (AP) and non-application of phosphorus (NP).

A screen house experiment was conducted during rabi season of 2018-19 to find out the effect of different levels of P and Zn on wheat yield, concentration of different nutrients in grain and straw in low and high P status soil. Five levels of P (0, 30, 60, 120 and 180 mg P kg-1 soil) and four levels of Zn (0, 2.5, 5 and 10 mg Zn kg-1 soil) were applied in completely randomized design with three replications.

In the present study, a considerable build up in soil organic carbon under tree canopy as compared to open canopy was found and soil organic carbon under tree canopy decreased with an increase in soil depth and increasing canopy distance. The total nitrogen percentage in soil decreased with an increase in depth and canopy. In case of available soil phosphorus, it decreased under the tree canopy with increasing soil depth and canopy distance.

The increase in reducing, non-reducing and total sugars at low P was 40, 122 and 93%, respectively as compared to control. This experiment shows that extra CO2 help to ameliorate the effect of P deficiency. The severe effects of P deficiency on growth and development of wheat plant was mitigated to some extent by elevated (CO2).

Phosphorus is the most important nutrient element for growth and development of wheat. In this field experiment, the effects of Solubilization of rock phosphate by spent wash onprotein, total sugar and total starch content in grain and straw was studied. application of 100% N&K + 75% P through SSP recorded significantly highest protein content in grain and straw found significantly superior to their lower levels.

Phytin, or myo-inositol hexakisphosphate (InsP6), is stored form of phosphorus (P) seeds of cereals and legumes. It has a strong tendency to chelate metallic cations Ca, Fe, K, Mg, Mn and Zn and form insoluble complexes which renders them unavailable to animals or humans fed on seed diet. The undigested P is released in excreta and spreads as manure into the soil causing eutrophication of water bodies also due to run off.

Phosphorus (P) is an essential macronutrient for plant growth, and is required in large quantities by elite varieties of crops to maintain yields. Approximately 70% of global cultivated land suffers from P deficiency, and it has recently been estimated that worldwide P resources will be exhausted by the end of this century, increasing the demand for crops more efficient in their P usage.

A field experiment was carried out to evaluate the effect of nitrogen levels and irrigation on the growth and yield of wheat (Treaticum aestivum L. emend fiory and Paol) var.WH-331 in the Bundelkhand region of U.P. The experiment includes two factors such as four irrigation regimes and four nitrogen levels. The treatments were compared under the factorial R.B.D. with three replications. The soil of the experimental field was 'paruwa' (silty loam) according to the type of Bundelkhand soil having soil pH (7.

Though one sixth of the global population resides in India, paradoxically, one third of about two billion people are suffering from vitamin and micronutrient deficiency in India due to heavy dependence on cereals grown in Zn- deficit soils. With the hypothesis that the residual Zn present in soil can also enhance the grain Zn content, a study was conducted with wheat variety ‘HD 2329’ to assess the grain concentrations of Zinc (Zn), Iron (Fe) and Phosphorus (P) grown on residual zinc in soils with divergent characteristics.

In field study, total 36 treatment combinations consisting of three moisture regimes as main plot treatment and 12 combinations of two levels of FYM, three levels of P carriers as sub-plot treatments evaluated in split plot design with three replications using wheat variety GW-451 as test crop. The results revealed that the maintenance of moisture between 100 and 75 % available water content (W1) significantly increased the length of earhead, number of grains/earhead, 1000-grain weight, grain and straw yield as well as gluten content. The treatments W1 and W2 resulted in 22.11 and 18.
