The advent of next-generation sequencing has brought about an explosion of single nucleotide polymorphism (SNP) data in non-model organisms; however, profiling these SNPs across multiple natural populations still requires substantial time and resources.

"Evaluation of Lonicera caerulea L. genotypes based on morphological characteristics of fruits germplasm collection" is known that a polymorphic population consisting of a large number of genotypes adapts more rapidly to the environment conditions. The availability of a large gene pool predetermines the success of the introduction and further breeding of new cultivars with economically valuable features. Morphometrics is a classical tool for studying the amplitude of the variability of cultivated plants and evaluating the genotypic diversity of the artificial population.

A variety of methods have been developed to demultiplex pooled samples in a single cell RNA sequencing (scRNA-seq) experiment which either require hashtag barcodes or sample genotypes prior to pooling.

Multiplexed single-cell RNA-seq analysis of multiple samples using pooling is a promising experimental design, offering increased throughput while allowing to overcome batch variation. To reconstruct the sample identify of each cell, genetic variants that segregate between the samples in the pool have been proposed as natural barcode for cell demultiplexing.

Pooled CRISPR screens are a powerful tool to probe genotype-phenotype relationships at genome-wide scale. However, criteria for optimal design are missing, and it remains unclear how experimental parameters affect results. Here, we report that random decreases in gRNA abundance are more likely than increases due to bottle-neck effects during the cell proliferation phase. Failure to consider this asymmetry leads to loss of detection power.

The Asian chestnut gall wasp (ACGW), Dryocosmus kuriphilus, native to China was accidentally introduced into many countries worldwide, including Italy. Different susceptibilities have been reported in literature among cultivated plants belonging to different gene pools worldwide, but this aspect has not been sufficiently explored among wild chestnut populations. The aims of this multiyear study were (i) to assess differences in susceptibility to ACGW in wild C.

Single nucleotide polymorphism (SNP) panels have been widely used to study genomic variations within and between populations. Methods of SNP discovery have been a matter of debate for their potential of introducing ascertainment bias, and genetic diversity results obtained from the SNP genotype data can be misleading. We used a total of 42 chicken populations where both individual genotyped array data and pool whole genome resequencing (WGS) data were available.

Selection acts on the phenotype, yet only the genotype is inherited. While both the phenotypic and genotypic response to short-term selection can be measured, the link between these is a major unsolved problem in evolutionary biology, in particular for complex behavioural phenotypes.

Discovering a genome-wide set of avocado (Persea americana Mill.) single nucleotide polymorphisms and characterizing the diversity of germplasm collection is a powerful tool for breeding. However, discovery is a costly process, due to loss of loci that are proven to be non-informative when genotyping the germplasm.

The genetic diversity and gene pool characteristics must be clarified for efficient genome-wide association studies, genomic selection, and hybrid breeding. The aim of this study was to evaluate the genetic structure of 509 wheat accessions representing registered varieties and advanced breeding lines via the highdensity genotyping-by-sequencing approach.

DNA pooling constitutes a cost effective alternative in genome wide association studies. In DNA pooling, equimolar amounts of DNA from different individuals are mixed into one sample and the frequency of each allele in each position is observed in a single genotype experiment.

Despite ongoing reduction in genotyping costs, genomic studies involving large numbers of species with low economic value (such as Black Tiger prawns) remain cost prohibitive. In this scenario DNA pooling is an attractive option to reduce genotyping costs.

Using molecular markers one can examine genetic diversity of species, cultivars, lines and forms of sunflower, identify genotypes, systematize collection material, classify heterosis groups and construct genetic maps. Fourteen parental genotypes of sunflower viz.,CMS-2A, CMS-821A, CMS-850A, R-10-46-2A, CMS-A4, CMS-A6, CMS-A10, R-GM-39, R-GM-41, R-GM-49, R-GM-69, 83-Br, R-393 and R2F01120B were analyzed for genetic diversity using 15 RAPD and 44 SSR primers. The genetic similarity index computed considering pooled data of SSR and RAPD markers showed very wide range from 0.18 to 0.

Genotype x environment interaction and stability analysis in pigeonpea [Cajanus cajan (L.) Mill sp.]
Twenty one pigeonpea genotypes were evaluated at four environments during kharif 2018-19, to study genotype × environment interaction for yield and its contributing traits. The experiment was laid out in randomized block design with three replication. Analysis of variance in each environment and on a pooled basis expressed a significant difference among genotypes for yield and yield contributing characters except for branches per plant and seeds per pod.

Fifty-five Indian mustard genotypes comprising forty-five hybrids and ten parental genotypes along with a two checks viz., NRCHB-506 and DMH-1 were evaluated for stability parameters of morphological and biochemical characters over the three different environments. Pooled analysis of variance over three environments showed that the genotypic variance when tested against G × E were significant for all the eight characters when tested against pooled error.Pooled deviation effect was significant for all the traits except protein content.
