The aim of the study was to determine the influence of root pruning on the above and below ground vegetative growth of poplar (Populus deltoides) clones viz., S7C15 and Uday in 2012-13 at College of Forestry, SHUATS, Allahabad (U.P). The experiment involved a factorial randomized block design which had five treatments(P1 – Control (un-pruned roots), P2- root pruned at 5 cm, P3- root pruned at 10 cm, P4- root pruned at 15 cm and P5 - root pruned at 20 cm) with three replications and each treatment consisted of 10 plants.

The study was conducted at Forest Nursery of Research Centre (School of Forestry and Environment) of Sam Higginbottom Institute of Agriculture, Technology and Sciences, Allahabad. The cost of production of ETP was estimated to give a clear picture on poplar nursery. The present market rate was taken for costs of fertilizers and other inputs and rupees per hectare is the unit. The viability of investment made in rising Populus deltoides ETPs increase with increase in size of the nursery.

The present study was conducted in 2014–15 in five tehsils (Behat, Deoband, Nakur, Rampur Maniharan and Saharanpur) of Saharanpur district which is north-western part of Uttar Pradesh, India to observe the effect of shading of border plantation of poplar (Populus deltoides) on wheat crop. Trees are the most important component of Agroforestry, they provide, shelter, food, nutrient for soil and fodder for animals. Poplar trees have an important commercial value and can make an important contribution to the economy of the country. Tree volume equations were developed for prediction and estimation of merchantable volume. Data were collected with the aid of haga altimeter, meter tape and calliper. The measurement obtain were the diameter at breast height (D.B.H), diameter at base, diameter at top and merchantable height.

The main goal of this study was to determine the effect of wood species and loose tenon length on the withdrawal force capacity of mortise and loose tenon (M<) T-type furniture joints. The specimens were manufactured from oak (Quercus alba), beech (Fagus orientalis L.), poplar (Populus deltoides), sycamore (Platanus orientalis), fir (Abies alba), and white walnut (Juglans cinerea), and the tenon species selected was oriental beech (Fagus orientalis L.).
