Klippel-Feil syndrome is a rare condition described in 1912 by Maurice Klippel and André Feil. It is defined as a congenital cervical fusion of at least two vertebrae, associated with a classical triad of clinical signs: short neck, low posterior hairline, and limited range of movement.

Long-axis in-plane approach versus short-axis out-of-plane approach for ultrasound-guided central venous catheterization in pediatric patients: A randomized controlled trial. The aim of this study was to compare the occurrence of posterior wall puncture between the long-axis in-plane and the short-axis out-of-plane approaches in a randomized controlled trial of pediatric patients who underwent cardiovascular surgery under general anesthesia.

The development of dysphagia and trismus following posterior C1–C3 fusion is rare compared to occipitocervical fusion, and there are very few reports in the literature. Short upper cervical fusion can produce trismus and dysphagia in a relatively fexed position. Preoperative planning should be individualized based on the patient’s resting neutral alignment to prevent complications.

The synovial chondromatosis is an uncommon proliferative metaplastic process of the synovial cells that can develop in any synovial joint. An isolated primary chondromatosis of the posterior compartment of the knee is uncommon and few cases are reported in literature.

Ultrasound-guided erector spine plane (ESP) block is widely used in perioperative analgesia for back, chest and abdominal surgery. The extent and distribution of this block remain controversial. This study was performed to assess the analgesia range of an ultrasound-guided ESP block.

Paraganglioma can be found in a wide range of locations. However, paraganglioma in the posterior mediastinum is rare. An unexpected paraganglioma located in the posterior mediastinum was found during surgery. The anesthesia management of this patient was challenging.

Many patients complain of pain following laparoscopic surgery. Clinicians have used ultrasoundguided posterior transversus abdominis plane block (TAPB) and rectus sheath block (RSB) for multimodal analgesia after surgery. We investigated the analgesic effects of US-guided posterior TAPB with RSB on postoperative pain following laparoscopy-assisted radical resection of early-stage rectal cancer.

In scoliosis corrective surgery, total blood loss is composed of visible blood loss, including intraoperative haemorrhage and drainage, and hidden blood loss in which blood extravasates into the tissues and accumulates in the surgical field.

Risk factors of total blood loss in the posterior surgery for patients with thoracolumbar metastasis
Blood loss in posterior surgery patients with thoracolumbar metastasis posed a significant challenge to surgeons. This study aimed to explore the risk factors of blood loss in posterior surgery for patients with thoracolumbar metastasis.

We compared the perioperative results and complications associated with PLIF and TLIF, and collected evidence for choosing the better fusion method. The evidence indicated that TLIF could reduce the complication rate and durotomy. Neither TLIP nor PLIF was found superior in terms of clinical satisfaction or radiographic fusion rate. PLIF might result in longer time in surgery.
