In this minireview, the efficiency of the Glauber reaction was evaluated by equilibrium determinations and comparatively viewed in light of today’s principle of sustainability. The manufacture of potassium permanganate through the method based on the Glauber reaction is taking a step in the direction of building a more sustainable world.

A two year old female duck was presented to the Referral Veterinary Polyclinic, VGO, IVRI, Izatnagar, U.P. with history of Egg bound and oviduct prolapse for past 6 hrs (i.e. 6 o’clock in the early morning). Close examination revealed necrosed area of the lower part of oviduct protruded from the vent and retained egg inside the prolapsed mass. Prolapsed mass was washed with 0.1% potassium permanganate solution. Lignocaine 2% gel was applied over the prolapsed part.

Carbon nanotubes (CNTs) synthesized via chemical vapour deposition without hydrogen were oxidized with 0.1 M potassium permanganate at 40 OC for 2 hours. The material exhibits a high CuII adsorption capacity from the aqueous solution. The purpose of the present paper is to describe the efficacy of horizontal mattress sutures in managing post-partum uterine prolapse in Malabari goats. Three cases of post-partum uterine prolapse were presented to Veterinary Hospital, Nedumkandam, Idukki, Keralawith the history of everted uterus hanging from the vagina. All of the cases were presented within 10 hours following the parturition. The prolapsed uterus was washed by using normal saline solution followed by washing with 1:1000 potassium permanganate solution.

The present investigation highlights the feasibility of a polymer grafting process to enhance the durability and flame retardancy of rice straw towards application as a low cost roofing material. Under solventless reaction conditions, the oxidation does not take place owing to predominant complex formation between copper(II) and aniline. The influence of the nature of the solvent as well as the replacement of copper(II) sulfate pentahydrate by several other inorganic salt hydrates on the potassium permanganate promoted oxidation of aniline is described.
