Breast cancer (BrCa) is a predominant malignancy, with metastasis occurring in one in eight patients, nearly half of which target the bone, leading to serious complications such as pain, fractures, and compromised mobility. This study aims to assess the efficacy of CTRA in monitoring osteolytic lesions’ progression and response to therapy, suggesting its potential superiority over existing methodologies in guiding treatment strategies.

Rectal tumor segmentation on post neoadjuvant chemoradiotherapy (nCRT) magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) has great significance for tumor measurement, radiomics analysis, treatment planning, and operative strategy. In this study, we developed and evaluated segmentation potential exclusively on post-chemoradiation T2-weighted MRI using convolutional neural networks, with the aim of reducing the detection workload for radiologists and clinicians

Ebook "Investigations of early nutrition effects on long-term health: Methods and applications" contains several reviews in the field as well as the step-by-step use of targeted and global approaches within the areas of genomics, epigenetics, proteomics, transcriptomics and metabolomics which aim to address this dilemma and to help pinpoint new treatment strategies. Chapters detail the generation of several models and methods for assessing health and provide researchers potential approaches for reversing or minimizing effects of disease.

Prostate cancer is often a slowly progressive indolent disease. Unnecessary treatments from overdiagnosis are a significant concern, particularly low-grade disease. Active surveillance has being considered as a risk management strategy to avoid potential side effects by unnecessary radical treatment.

B cell maturation antigen (BCMA) targeted immunotherapies have demonstrated remarkable clinical efficacy in multiple myeloma (MM). Here, we evaluated the BCMA expression in MM and other plasma cell dyscrasias (PCDs), hoping to provide a potential treatment strategy for the relapsed/refractory PCDs besides MM.

Homo sapiens chromosome 2 clone RP11-339H12 (AC010883.5) is a dysregulated long non-coding RNA (lncRNA) that has never been investigated in cervical cancer (CC). Thus, the potential function and molecular mechanism remain unclear. Our study explored the biological function of AC010883.5 to determine the underlying mechanisms in CC and provide potential therapeutic targets for improving the clinical treatment strategy.

In recent years, hyperthermia has been widely applied as a novel strategy for cancer treatment due to its multiple antitumour effects. In particular, the potential influences of hyperthermia on the tumour immune microenvironment may improve the efficacy of immunotherapies. However, the effect of hyperthermia on renal cell carcinoma (RCC) has not been well characterized until now.

Currently, nearly 36.5 million people live with Alzheimer’s disease worldwide, and acetylcholinesterase inhibition is considered the main treatment strategy against it. Seaweeds (or macroalgae) are a natural source of high-value bioactive compounds and have great potential in the production of health foods/foods, pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, animal feeds, biofertilizers, and biofuels.

Degradation of antibiotic sulfamethoxazole in aqueous media by UVA/TiO2 pure-brookite photocatalysis
The appearance of antibiotic sulfamethoxazole (SMX) in natural environments poses a potential risk to human health and ecology. Among many developed treatment techniques to remove and degrade SMX from an aqueous environment, photodegradation using the phase-pure TiO2 nanoparticles (NPs) in brookite structure as an active photocatalyst could be considered as a novel and effective strategy.

Adenocarcinoma of the pancreas is one of the most aggressive cancer diseases affecting the human body. The oncogenic potential of this type of cancer is mainly characterized by its extreme growth rate triggered by the activation of signaling cascades. Modern oncological treatment strategies aim at efficiently modulating specific signaling and transcriptional pathways.

Periodontal disease (PD) in dogs is prompted by the establishment of a polymicrobial biofilm at the tooth surface and a subsequent host inflammatory response. Several strategies may be used for PD control, including dental hygiene home care procedures, like toothbrushing, special diet and chew toys that reduce dental plaque accumulation, or professional periodontal treatments.

Bacterial strains isolated from milk and dairy products produce a range of lantibiotics which can employed for development of food preservatives, flavor enhancers and as alternate treatment strategies for multi drug resistant bacterial pathogens. The diverse category of lantibiotics from milk isolates include well characterized prototypes like nisin to newer peptides yet to be studied.

Cancer is a disease characterized by the continuous growth of cells without adherence to the rules that healthy normal cells obey. Carbonic anhydrase I and II (CA I and CA II) inhibitors are used for the treatment of some diseases. The available drugs in the market have limitations or side effects, which bring about the need to develop new drug candidate compound(s) to overcome the problems at issue.

Renal ischemia-reperfusion (I/R) injury, one of the drastic outcomes of renal failure and organ transplantation, tends to deteriorate over time; therefore, noninvasive therapeutic strategies will avail the progression-free survival of the patients. Magnetic field has been proposed as a noninvasive treatment strategy; however, with recent scientific advances, many controversies have arisen regarding its efficacy. Pterostilbene, a natural analog of resveratrol, was documented to be effective in treatment of I/R injuries.

Water logging and low application efficiency are main problems inherent with surface irrigation. The methods were surface, surface drip and subsurface drip irrigation with three level of irrigation 100, 80, 60% of potential evapo-transpiration were compared and contour map of soil moisture patterns were analysed for corn in two times; one before irrigation, and other at 48 h after irrigation. The distribution of water in soil profile for potato crop by subsurface drip irrigation system (SDI) studied and it was observed uniform and more yield for all treatments.

The study of cancer genomics continually matures as the number of patient samples sequenced increases. As more data is generated, oncogenic drivers for specific cancer types are discovered along with their associated risks. This in turn leads to potential treatment strategies that pave the way to precision medicine.
