This research introduces a novel approach to selecting and designing magnetic cores for DC power optimizers. Unlike traditional methods that depend on the Area Product (Ap) and involve extensive trial and error to achieve the final design, the proposed methodology utilizes two essential parameters: the Core to Copper Loss Ratio (γ) and the Window Utilization Factor (ku) for the inductor design process.

"Standard Test Method for Alternating-Current Magnetic Properties of Materials at Power Frequencies Using Wattmeter-Ammeter-Voltmeter Method and 25-cm Epstein Test Frame" covers tests for the magnetic properties of basic flat-rolled magnetic materials at power frequencies (25 to 400 Hz) using a 25-cm Epstein test frame and the 25-cm double-lap-jointed core. It covers the determination of core loss, rms exciting power, rms and peak exciting current, and several types of ac permeability and related properties of flat-rolled magnetic materials under ac magnetization.

This specification covers the detailed requirements to which flat-rolled nonoriented fully processed electrical steel shall conform. This steel is produced to specified maximum core-loss values and is intended primarily for commercial power frequency (50 and 60 Hz) applications in magnetic devices. Desirable core-loss and permeability characteristics are developed during mill processing, so additional heat treatment by the user is usually not necessary

In this paper, the control design for the grid-connected converter used as a part of the wind turbine generator is discussed. First, the three-phase T-type multilevel converter, which exhibits several advantages such as low total harmonic distortion, reduced voltage stress, and switching loss, is employed for the power stage. Second, finite control set model predictive control (FCS-MPC) is adopted to achieve a multi-objective optimization solution for the inner grid-connected current control loop.

This paper proposes a mixed-integer linear programming (MILP) model aiming to optimize the topology of transmission networks considering power loss. The proposed MILP model is converted from the MINLP model using the piecewise linearization technique and precisely linearizing the product of the binary and continuous variables. The objective function of the TNEP problem in this study is to minimize the total cost of the power system, including the investment cost for new transmission lines, maintenance cost, cost related to energy losses loss, and production cost of generators.
