The prevalence of Gram-positive Staphylococcus aureus in infectious diseases is increasing in Vietnam for recent years. Therefore, novel class of antibiotic or active compounds is indispensable to treat this common worldwide pathogen. In the present study, we investigated the antibacterial activities of Cleistocalyx operculatus (Roxb.) Merr. et Perry leaves collected in Quang Nam.

Our understanding of the factors influencing the emergence, dissemination and global distribution of epidemic clones of bacteria is limited. ST59 is a major epidemic clone of community-associated MRSA in East Asia, responsible for extensive morbidity and mortality, but has a much lower prevalence in other parts of the world.

Obesity is an important public health problem and a risk factor for many chronic diseases, and its prevalence is increasing rapidly. In recent years there has been interest in the impact of nutrients on obesity and this has been addressed as a research topic. Bee bread is a bee product that has recently attracted attention with its macro- and micronutrients and the enzymes and biocomponents it contains. Although there are many studies on the biological properties and effects of bee bread, its effect on obesity with leptin and ghrelin has not been investigated.

Intercellular adhesion and biofilm production by Staphylococcus aureus makes these bacteria resistant to antimicrobial therapy. Here, Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) strains were characterized and the prevalence of genes encoding adhesion factors and biofilm formation was determined.

Staphylococcus aureus (SA) is the most prevalent organism infecting the respiratory tract of CF children, and remains the second most prevalent organism in CF adults. During early childhood, SA infections are associated with pulmonary inflammation and decline in FEV1, but their clinical significance in adult CF patients is poorly characterized.

Infections caused by Staphylococcus aureus have a poorer prognosis when the infecting strain is Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) additionally MRSA strains are important for their resistance to many other commonly used antibiotics. The objectives of this study were to estimate the prevalence of MRSA strains in clinical specimens and to investigate their sensitivity pattern. A total of 480 various samples received in the department of Microbiology at MIMER Medical college and hospital, Talegaon were included in the study.

The present study was carried out to detect the sensitivity pattern and prevalence of Methicillin Resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) at tertiary care hospital, Surendranagar. Total 1776 Clinical specimens were studied. All the isolates were identified by standard microbiological procedures like gram staining, colony morphology on solid culture media and biochemical reactions. Antibiotic sensitivity testing was done for all isolates by modified Kirby Bauer disk diffusion method. Total 194 Staphylococcus aureus were tested for MRSA by Cefoxitin disc diffusion test...

The present study was carried in the Department of Microbiology, MMIMSR, Haryana on 200 clinically suggested cases of corneal ulcers. Corneal scrapings were subjected to microscopy and culture. Of 200 suspected cases, 43.5% were culture positive. Staphylococcus aureus and Pseudomonas aeruginosa were the predominant gram positive and negative bacterial isolates. Aspergillus species was the most prevalent fungal isolate.

Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) is one of the major causes of hospital-acquired infections worldwide. It is widespread in communities and prevalent in hospital and even amongst the livestock. The mortality and morbidity amongst patients with infections associated with MRSA are usually high owing to increasing resistance to several antibiotics. The resistant pattern of MRSA has not been clearly defined in Oleh.
