This paper investigates fracture mechanics in particle-reinforced composites by using the extended finite element method enhanced by the consecutive-interpolation quadrilateral element. These composite materials have discontinuous boundaries such as cracks, voids and hard inclusions.

The purpose of this paper is to study functions for computing topic trust in social networks. The focus is to describe classes of functions for propagation of trust among connected peers. Some of them represent properties of relationships between user’s interests on topic and trust trustworthiness. Some other functions describe computational methods of topic trust values along a path and from various paths. Based on these classes of functions, we construct an algorithm for computing topic trust via propagation of topic trust among nodes.

Topic trust in social networks is defined by means of a function of trust degrees, which are estimated via interaction experience and user interests. The computation of such a function is based on propagation of trust values along paths with neighbor nodes and thus own highly computational cost. In this paper, we first consider various strategies for estimating topic trust based on a hierarchy of users with k-level neighbors. Then we introduce algorithms for computing topic trust values w.r.t. these strategies.

Hydrangea (Hortensia) is a highly popular ornamental plant for garden decoration, and now it is commercially produced for cut flower branches. The aim of this study was to set up a protocol for large scale for in vitro propagation of Hydrangea macrophylla, for this purpose two type of explant (shoot tip and node) were sterilized and the best percentage of survival explants (40%) was obtained when explants immersed for 20 min in 1.0 or 1.5 % NaOCl. For in vitro multiplication, Murashige and Skoog medium supplemented with 1.0 mg/l BA and 2.0 mg/l Kin was the best treatment on shoot number.

In distributed system data replication is needed in order to improve data availability and performance among replica and those replicas need to be periodically refreshed using some update propagation strategies because the data store may be physically distributed across multiple machines at multiple sites. Data availability means to provide data to requesting node. The key issue is to decide where, when and by whom replicas should be placed and mechanisms to use for keeping the replicas consistent. Replication is a way to enhance the performance of application that accesses the data.

Propagating information about materialized views: When a query is posed, the first step is to consider whether it can be answered using the data at “nearby” storage providers, and to evaluate the costs of doing so. This requires the query initiator to be aware of existing materialized views and properties such as location and data freshness. One direction we are exploring is to propagate information about materialized views using techniques derived from routing protocols [14]. Freshness and update consistency: There are many possible ways of propagating updates from the data origins to intermediate nodes that have materialized views of this data. Some possible solutions would be invalidation messages pushed by the server or client-initiated validation messages; however, both of these incur overhead that limits scala- bility. Another approach is a timeout/expiration-based protocol, as employed by DNS and web caches. This approach has lower overhead, at the cost of providing much looser guarantees about freshness and consistency.
