In silico screening of alkaloids as potential inhibitors of HER2 protein for breast cancer treatment
his study focused on finding alkaloid compounds collected from Chemfaces database that inhibit HER2 enzyme employing computational methods such as molecular docking and ADMET prediction. Out of 118 phytochemicals docked to the ATP binding site of the HER2 kinase domain, 10 alkaloid compounds exhibited higher binding affinity than the reference inhibitor and satisfied the Lipinski’s rule of five. All compounds have good pharmacokinetic properties.

Ebook "Vanadium: Biochemical and molecular biological approaches" is particularly timely as it exactly coincides with the centennial anniversary of the discovery of vanadium by Professor Henze, in the blood cells of an ascidian (tunicate) collected in Gulf of Naples in 1911. Vanadium, atomic number 23, covers a wide range of oxidation states (from -2 to +5) and has unpaired electrons. Depending on these properties, a wide variety of enzymes and compounds containing vanadium have been found and the biochemical behaviour of vanadium has been investigated extensively.

Ebook "Plant physiology" examines three ways plants respond to their changing environment. The first example can be found in all plants. Despite the extreme changes in weather, plants have to stay where they are and respond to whatever nature produces. Plants have the capacity to respond quickly and yet they can evolve in a single generation. The second example addresses how an individual leaf has to respond rapidly and repeatedly to maintain the proper balance of carbon dioxide (CO2) and water so that it can photosynthesize but not dry out.

Oils may go rancid and develop an unpleasant odor and flavor if incorrectly stored. The main factors that cause rancidity (in addition to moisture, bacteria and enzymes) are light, heat, air and some types of metals. Rancid oil forms harmful free radicals in the body, which are known to cause cellular damage and have been associated with diabetes, Alzheimer's disease and other conditions.

S-adenosyl-l-homocysteine hydrolase (SAHH) is the only eukaryotic enzyme capable of S-adenosyl-lhomocysteine (SAH) catabolism for the maintenance of cellular transmethylation potential. Recently, biochemical and genetic studies in herbaceous species have obtained important discoveries in the function of SAHH, and an extensive characterization of SAHH family in even one tree species is essential, but currently lacking.

A series of chiral thioureas (1 - 17) were synthesized from and tested for their anticholinesterase, tyrosinase, and urease enzyme inhibitor activities. Various phenylisothiocyanates were added to solution of ˪-cysteine in methanol: water (1 : 1 v / v) at room temperature and stirred for 24 h. The precipitated solid was recrystallized from n-butanol. Pure compounds were characterized by NMR (1 H and 13C), FTIR, and CHNS.

Synthesis of some new isoxazole compounds and their biological tyrosinase and antioxidant activities
In this study, 7 new isoxazole compounds (8-14) were synthesized from the cyclization of chalcone compounds (1-7) containing different functional groups with hydroxylamine hydrochloride in alkaline medium. Tyrosinase and antioxidant properties of 8-14 were investigated. IC50 values for the tyrosinase enzyme inhibition of compounds 8, 11, 12, and 13 were varied between 61.47 ± 3.46 and 188.52 ± 5.85, while compounds 9, 10 and 14 did not show any inhibition effect.

This study was aimed to evaluate the physicochemical properties and chemical profile of seeds oil obtained from new seven sunflower (Helianthus annuus L.) lines as well as their antioxidant and enzyme inhibition activity. The seeds powder was extracted by maceration in n-hexane. The oil content of the seven lines was ranged from 20.04% to 36.65% and was either yellow or pale yellow in color. No significant variations were observed on the refractive index (1.46 unit) of the oil.

Protein dynamics play a significant role in many aspects of enzyme activity. Monitoring of structural changes and aggregation of biotechnological enzymes under native conditions is important to safeguard their properties and function. In this work, the potential of asymmetrical flow field-flow fractionation (AF4) to study the dynamic association equilibria of the enzyme β-D-galactosidase (β-D-Gal) was evaluated.
