The application of raw-starch hydrolysis enzymes to ethanol production by no-cook technology at very high gravity (VHG) (311.5 g/L) from rice would reduce the energy consumption compared to traditional process. In this study, the Taguchi design and the desirability function were used to identify the optimized production process for economic and technological targets.

Graphene Quantum Dots (GQDs) were successfully synthesized by a green and ecofriendly synthetic method using abundant and naturally available raw materials from rice flour. To the best of our knowledge, there have been no published reports concerning the comparison of the ability to synthesize GQDs and the properties of GQDs produced by these two methods.

The main others were cultivation environment pollution, the inferior seeds, cultivation techniques and post-harvest management. The solutions to these challenges are to make surrounding farmland cleaned, to expand the certified seeds’ supply and the advanced new farming technology, to modernize facilities for drying, storage and sort of agro-products, and to improve logistics capacity.

Cellulose, one of the renewable and biodegradable polymers, has been extensively studied as a raw material for a newly and fully bio-based hydrogel. The synthesis of bio-hydrogel is based on the dissolution of extracted cellulose from rice straw in tetrabutylphosphonium hydroxide (TBPH) solvent followed by the gelation using epichlorohydrin (ECH) crosslinkers.

The aim of the work "Activated carbon derived from rice husk by NaOH activation and its application in supercapacitor" is to prepare a low-cost, high specific surface area activated carbon with microporous and mesoporous ranges using rice husk as the raw material. The effects of activation temperature on the specific surface area, pore structure, morphology and thermal stability of the AC samples have been examined. The AC samples were proved to be excellent electrode material for supercapacitor, hence solve the disposal and pollution problems of rice husk.

The present paper aimed at the investigation of the effect of preliminary acid treatment on the structure and purity of extracted silica. In this study, the acid leaching of rice husk (RH) in 2 M hydrochloric acid solution before the calcination process at 600◦C was proposed to achieve completely white silica with high specific surface area and low content of impurities. RH, selected from the Almaty Region, Kyzylorda Region, and Turkestan Region was used as the main silica source. The results confirmed that the highest purity (98.2%–99.

In order to reduce the serious impacts of industrial and agricultural wastes on the environment, raw rice husk and bottom ash were used as fine aggregates, while fly ash was utilized as a binder material in the production of unburnt building bricks. Two group mixtures were designed with water-to-binder (W/B) ratios of 0.30 and 0.35. The rice husk was used to replace 0%, 3%, 6%, and 9% of bottom ash content by mass.

This study aims to investigate the adsorption capacity of ammonium NH4 + , nitrite NO2 - and nitrate NO3 - onto rice husk biochar (RHB) obtained from 550 °C pyrolysis temperature in the context of using low-cost absorbent for recirculating aquaculture system (RAS). Raw RHB at its original size 5–8 mm has been chosen for testing its adsorption capacity as well as several key material properties (pHPZC, surface area, and elemental analysis).

Cassava (Manihot esculenta, crantz) is an important food crop for many tropical zones in the world such as Africa, Asia and Latin America. In Vietnam it is an annual plant with the purpose of obtaining its tuber as food and ranked as the third, food crop after the rice and maize. In recent years when rice production has been more than enough for the domestic food demand of the people, cassava has become a raw material as starch for the processing industry. In the country, there have appeared many agricultural zones where cassava is planted for starch production.

The present study was conducted to know the nutrition composition of pre-treated foxtail millet rice in comparison with raw foxtail millet grains. Different pre-treatments were given to the millet grains in different combination such as roasting; cooking, drying and roasting. Pre-treatment reduced the moisture, protein, fat content of millet grains significantly (p < 0.05). More reduction was observed in cooked, dried and roasted grains and minimum reduction was observed in roasted grains.

Rice is an important versatile food crops which feeds over half of the world's population and provides essential food elements, employment opportunity as well as raw materials for different products used by human kind. An investigation was carried out with the twenty six genotypes of rice to study the nature and magnitude of genetic divergence using D2 statistics in 2015. Eleven quantitative traits were recorded on the genotypes raised in the RBD Design with three replications.

The present study was under taken with the view to analyse the physical, nutritional and in-vitro digestibility of raw rice varieties. The results of the study revealed that HB-2 and HKR-48 rice variety had maximum length, breadth, thickness, L/B ratio, seed weight, seed volume, water absorption capacity, bulk density and true density than other varieties and porosity was significantly higher in Permal local variety than other varieties. Moisture, crude protein, crude fat, ash and crude fibre ranged from 9.54 to 10.40, 6.19 to 8.20, 1.70 to 2.62, 0.40 to 1.17 and 0.24 to 0.

Designing the equipment for processing, sorting, sizing and other post-harvesting equipment of agricultural products requires information about their physical properties. The objective of this work was to determine some of the physical properties of three different type of rice variety which may influence the rice processing operations. In this study, various physical properties of rough rice variety were determined at a moisture content of about 12% (dry basis).

The present investigation highlights the feasibility of a polymer grafting process to enhance the durability and flame retardancy of rice straw towards application as a low cost roofing material. The success of this grafting methodology was perceived to depend upon a bi-step pre-treatment process encompassing delignification and inorganic salts dispersion. Subsequently free radical polymer grafting of acrylonitrile onto rice straw was implemented by immersion mechanism initiated by oxalic acid-potassium permanganate initiator.

Rice husk is a potential source for renewable energy and silica. To extract the maximum amount of silica, usually the rice husk is treated with strong acids that burn the organic part leaving behind a black residue. In this research, sulfuric acid is used as an oxidizing agent. Efforts are focused to find out more about the behavior of acid-treated rice husk by using thermal exposure, and results are compared with results for raw rice husk which is thermally exposed but not acid treated.
