Over the past three decades, self-regulated learning (SRL) has been considered a powerful new learning theory that enables students to apply knowledge and skills in real-life situations and make them more autonomous and independent in language learning. It is of vital importance to explore how students use SRL strategies in learning language skills.

Although patients have more problems using metered dose inhalers, clinical comparisons suggest they provide similar control to dry powder inhalers. Using real-life situations this study was designed to evaluate asthma control in outpatients with moderate to severe persistent asthma and to compare efficacy of fixed combinations of inhaled corticosteroids (ICS) and long acting beta-agonists (LABA).

Grammar is undoubtedly part of a language. Therefore, teaching and learning English grammaris indispensable to teaching and learning English. Poor English grammar will definitely make learners fail to communicate effectively in English. However, English grammar will only help if it is communicatively taught. That is to say, teachers should introduce English grammar in contexts and create practice activities that are close to situations in real life.

This article examines the alignment between the ESP course materials – English for hotel majored students – and the English language used in the hotel setting in Vietnam. English textbooks which were commonly used in the ESP courses for hospitality students were reviewed for the limits on the portion of the written materials in comparison with the English language used by the hotel staff in the real-life setting. Content analysis was adopted for analyzing the course materials, particularly the activities provided for students to practice listening and speaking skills.

Learning Math has never brought all exciting experiences for most students in their learning process. Teaching Math therefore has never been as easy as a pie for teachers either; especially for those working in high-school settings and assigned the responsibilities for providing the core knowledge of certain concepts and formulas in a limited time frame and then making students fully understand and be able to demonstrate their application of what they learn to real-life situations.

Young people with disabilities often lag behind their typically developing peers in the achievement of adult roles, which has been attributed to a lack of opportunities to develop critical life skills. Residential Immersive Life Skills (RILS) programs provide situated learning opportunities to develop life skills alongside peers and away from home in real-world settings.

This study aimed to examine the effects of 'Heart Sounds', a webbased program on improving fifth-year medical students' auscultation skill in a medical school in Egypt. This program was designed for medical students to master cardiac auscultation skills in addition to their usual clinical medical courses. Pre- and post-tests were performed to assess students' auscultation skill improvement. Upon completing the training, students were required to complete a questionnaire to reflect on the learning experience they developed through 'Heart Sounds' program.

The design of Serious Games for training in complex areas of expertise presents many difficulties related to trainers’ participation in the design phase, the formalization of scenarios describing highly complex situations, the limited number of scenarios in Serious Games due to their high costs, and the low re-use level of real-life scenarios. This study proposes functional and technical infrastructure with ARGILE (Architecture for Representations, Games, Interactions, and Learning among Experts) for design of Serious Games.

The teaching approaches of mathematics derived from humanity involve positive interactions that support meaningful and relevant learning. The main objective of the teaching approaches is to prepare students with the competence to solve daily life problems, and one of the most important tools is using authentic tasks.

In real life cases, there may be situations when the experts are not sure about the alternatives and may have oscillation between multiple values for an alternative. Hesitant Fuzzy Sets is used to represent the expert’s preferences. The fuzzy clustering for hesitant fuzzy sets is used to identify and manage the non-cooperative experts in the group. The application paradigms include publication paper selection.

In this paper, we consider some Multi-choice linear programming (MCLP) problems where the alternative values of the multi-choice parameters are fuzzy numbers. There are some real-life situations where we need to choose a value for a parameter from a set of different choices to optimize our objective, and those values of the parameters can be imprecise or fuzzy. We formulate these situations as a mathematical model by using some fuzzy numbers for the alternatives.

In this paper, a multi-objective economic order quantity model with shortages and demand dependent unit cost under storage space constraint is formulated. In real life situation, the objective and constraint goals and cost parameters are not precisely defined. These are defined in fuzzy environment. The cost parameters are represented here as triangular shaped fuzzy numbers with different types of left and right branch membership functions.

The main purpose of this paper is to modify Goyal’s model to allow the unit selling price and the unit purchasing price not necessarily be equal to reflect the real-life situations. Furthermore, this paper will adopt different payment rule. We assume that the retailer uses sales revenue during the permissible credit period to make payment to the supplier at the end of the credit period.

The article introduces some theoretical background of Freudenthal's theory of Realistic Mathematics Education and addresses the situation of mathematics teaching in Vietnamese primary schools. The article proposes some of implications to increase the use of authentic problems in mathematics teaching in Vietnamese primary schools. These suggestions aim at helping students apply mathematics in different real life situations and acknowledge the importance of mathematics in daily life.
