  • This paper presents a proposed CP system for pipelines, utilizing an intelligent IoT system. The sensor nodes of the system designed based on the STM32 microcontroller perform the measurement of voltages from the reference electrodes, process the signal as well as perform wireless communication about the control stations via LoRa (Long Range Radio) communication.

  • Investigate theoretically quantum transport through the “charge” Kondo circuit consisting of the quantum dot (QD) coupled weakly to an electrode at temperature T + ∆T and connected strongly to another electrode at the reference temperature T by a single-mode quantum point contact (QPC). To account for the effects of Coulomb interaction in the QD-QPC setup operating in the integer quantum Hall regime we describe the edge current in the quantum circuit by Luttinger model characterized by the Luttinger parameter g. • The presence of Escherichia coli (EC) microorganisms in live organs can cause foodborne illnesses and food-related deaths. Here, EC assay was performed using a microcopper three-electrode (MCE) system, where a handmade MCE was used as a working electrode and Ag/AgCl as reference and platinum counter electrodes. Under a 1.0-ml EC standard, the diagnostic optimum conditions were sought. The analytical oxidation potential was obtained at -0.2 V via positive scan. Under these conditions, the stripping linear working range was attained with 0.2-0.7 mg/mL EC variations.

  • For the first time, the detection of DNA sequences, related to HIV (found in AIDS patients), using Methylene Blue (MB) as the redox indicator was performed. The voltametric signals have been investigated on bared chitosan (CS) modified; probe immobilized (DNA single strand) and target-hybridized (DNA double strand) electrodes sequentially by means of Cyclic Voltammetry (CV) and Square Wave Voltammetry (SWV). The response of hybridization between the probe and perfectly complementary, double-base mismatch, single-base mismatch of analyzed targets were clearly identified.

  • Heart rate is calculated as the number of times the heart beats per minute. It usually measures ventricular rate (the number of QRS complexes) but can refer to atrial rate (the number of P waves). The method chosen to calculate HR varies according to rate and regularity on the ECG tracing.

  • Introduction: An ion-selective electrode (ISE) is an example of an electrochemical sensor utilizing the principle of potentiometry, or measurement of the cell potential (i.e., ISE against a standard reference electrode) at near-zero current. Under these conditions, the boundary potential at the ISE–solution interface is governed by the laws of electrochemical thermodynamics or is compliant with the famous Nernst equation.

  • Introduction: The term NEMCA refers to nonfaradaic electrochemical modification of catalytic activity. The NEMCA effect is also known as electrochemical promotion or electrochemical promotion of catalysis (EPOC) or electropromotion. It is the effect observed on the rates and selectivities of catalytic reactions taking place on electronically conductive catalysts deposited on ionic (or mixed ionic–electronic) supports upon application of electric current or potential (typically 72 V) between the catalyst and a second (counter or auxiliary) electrode also deposited on the same support. ...

  • Introduction: Electrocrystallization refers to nucleation and crystal growth occurring on electrodes in electrochemical systems under the influence of an electric field. Nucleation and growth phenomena are involved in many battery systems, where the electron transfer is coupled to various phase transformations occurring during charge and/or discharge in the active electrode materials. For example, in the lead–acid battery the electrochemical reactions involve formation of different electronically conducting and insulating crystal phases (e.g.

  • A good reference electrode must reach its potential quickly, be reproducible, and remain stable with time. It must have a practically nonpolarizable metal-solution interface; that is, its potential must not depart significantly from the equilibrium value on the passage of a small current across the interface. The potential of the junction between the electrolytes of the reference and test electrodes must be minimized. These criteria are detailed subsequently.
