Ebook "p53 Protocols (Second edition)" expert researchers in the field detail many of the methods that address the challenging questions of the p53 field. These methods include the identification of the target genes and binding partners of gain of function p53 mutants, methods to determine stress response, autophagy or senescence induced by p53, cell cycle analysis, analysis of different phases of DNA replication modified by p53, and generation of pluripotent stem cells.

Currently, R is showing its strengths and benefits in data analysis in general and forestry data in particular. R can perform new, difficult and complex statistical analyses such as linear mixed model, replicated point patter analysis, etc. In the forestry data analysis, checking independence between samples and random effects has not been done so far by scientists. This is a really difficult problem in forestry data analysis, because it is an important basis for choosing analytical tools later on.

Base substitution catalogues represent historical records of mutational processes that have been active in a cell. Such processes can be distinguished by various characteristics, like mutation type, sequence context, transcriptional and replicative strand bias, genomic distribution and association with (epi)-genomic features.

Human kidney organoids hold promise for studying development, disease modelling and drug screening. However, the utility of stem cell-derived kidney tissues will depend on how faithfully these replicate normal fetal development at the level of cellular identity and complexity.

In the forest structure, the spatial distribution of forest trees plays a very important role. The importance of the spatial distribution is to influence the sampling design of forest inventory, timber production, and the need for silvicultural treatments in a stand. The analysis results show that the difference between the two types is significant.

Copy-number variations (CNVs) have been associated with rare and debilitating genomic disorders (GDs) but their impact on health later in life in the general population remains poorly described. Methods Assessing four modes of CNV action, we performed genome-wide association scans (GWASs) between the copy-number of CNV-proxy probes and 60 curated ICD-10 based clinical diagnoses in 331,522 unrelated white British UK Biobank (UKBB) participants with replication in the Estonian Biobank.

This study aims to establish and validate a new diagnosis model called P.Z.A. score for clinically significant prostate cancer (csPCa). The demographic and clinical characteristics of 956 patients were recorded. Age, prostate-specific antigen (PSA), free/total PSA (f/tPSA), PSA density (PSAD), peripheral zone volume ratio (PZ-ratio), and adjusted PSAD of PZ (aPSADPZ) were calculated and subjected to receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve analysis.

The ends of linear chromosomes, the telomeres, comprise repetitive DNA sequences in complex with proteins that protects them from being processed by the DNA repair machinery. Cancer cells need to counteract the shortening of telomere repeats during replication for their unlimited proliferation by reactivating the reverse transcriptase telomerase or by using the alternative lengthening of telomeres (ALT) pathway.

Dry bean (phaseolus vulgaris L.) field experiment was carried out under the subhumid climatic conditions of Bafra, Turkey, to evaluate the possibilities of using hyperspectral reflectance data for estimating yield and water consumption. Three irrigation management treatments that depend on monitoring soil water content and one rain-fed treatment were subjected to dry beans arranged in a randomized complete block design with three replications.

The results of "Morphological and molecular characterization of Croatian carob tree (Ceratonia siliqua L.) germplasm" morphological and AFLP variability of 120 plants of carob tree (Ceratonia siliqua L.), collected from 12 different locations (10 biological replicates for each location) on the coast and islands of the southern Croatian Adriatic, indicate high molecular and morphological variability among these carob populations.

Plants are advantageous as biopharmaceutical manufacturing platforms because they allow the economical and scalable upstream production of proteins, including those requiring post-translational modifications, but do not support the replication of human viruses. However, downstream processing can be more labor-intensive compared to fermenter-based systems because the product is often mixed with abundant host cell proteins.

Co-expression networks have been a useful tool for functional genomics, providing important clues about the cellular and biochemical mechanisms that are active in normal and disease processes. However, co-expression analysis is often treated as a black box with results being hard to trace to their basis in the data.
