The aim of study "Ba Lat delta evolution in response to changing fluvial sediment supply by the Red river, Vietnam" is to (i) estimate the amount of sediment discharge via the Ba Lat mouth, (ii) quantify changes in the active Ba Lat delta, including the delta-front shoreline, deltaic land area and (iii) explore the statistical relationship between these changes and the river sediment loads before and after all the large damreservoir operations upstream of the Red River system.

In addition, Climate change causes sea level rise, thereby increasing the existing water level along with that in large rivers and also causing storm surge, which coincides with the time of flood discharge at Dau Tieng and Tri An reservoirs.

The pollution caused by market wastewater has occurred for several years in Vietnam. In particular, untreated wastewater from riverside markets is often directly discharged into a river nearby, increasing loads of pollutants in the river.

Researches on combinion of hydrological and hydrodynamic models are very important when performing risk assessment and disaster management, including saline intrusion, which is especially important for watersheds, with limited measurement data. The objective of this study is linking two types of hydrological and hydrodynamic models to simulate the scope of salinity intrusion in the Ve estuary, Quang Ngai province.

Flood is one of the most commonly occurring forms of natural disaster which damage to environment and society. In order to contribute to the work of mitigating the effect of climate change as well as floods' damage, this study introduces a method to simulate discharge with respect to design storm through hydrological modeling system (HMS).

Assessment of water quality variations due to operation of wastewater treatment plant in Ca Mau city
The wastewater treatment plant (WWTP) in Ca Mau city, which is being planned for construction, will be responsible for treating domestic wastewater with a capacity of 8,000 m3 /day. After being treated by the physic-biological method, the plant’s wastewater will be discharged into the Thong Nhat canal and the Tac Thu river.

This paper examines the effects of reduced water flow by upstream dams’ operation and river bed incision on saltwater intrusion in the Mekong Delta. In that regard, long-term water flow at two upstream hydrology stations from 1980 to 2020 and river bed incision from 2009 to 2017 were analyzed.

The Red river delta plain is the second largest delta in Vietnam and is located in the North of the country with an area of 14,860 km² and residing more than 22.5 million inhabitants. Groundwater is mainly exploited in Quaternary sedimentary aquifers with a total discharge of about 3 million m3 /day.

This study was conducted to evaluate the impact of activities in campus Universitas Padjadjaran (UNPAD) on the water quality as a result of the entery and discharge of pollution materials from laboratories, food courts, agriculture and domestic waste in campus UNPAD to Check dam UNPAD, Ciparanje and Cikuda River. Very limited information is available on the phytoplankton status and the effect of water pollution on the phytoplankton population of this area.

Numerical models that calculate bed change are becoming increasingly popular because of their longterm forecast projections and their ability to identify causes of bed change. However, the reliability of the simulation results depends on the length of the data series and the algorithms in the model, in which the boundary condition method plays a critical role. The aim of this study is to assess the effectiveness of the HYDIST model to update wet and dry fronts as well as recalculate the wet boundaries of the hydraulic model before its input into the sediment transport model.

A rainfall – runoff model describes the relation between the rainfall and runoff for a particular catchment area. The relationship between rainfall in a period and the corresponding runoff is quite complex. SCS-CN method is used to estimate the runoff, but, SCS-CN method does not consider the impact of rainfall intensity and did not account for the influence of forest management practices. The aim of this study is to develop Fuzzy Logic Model to estimate runoff using rainfall given for the area under consideration.

A study was carried out from December 2016 to February 2017 with the aim of evaluating the effects of some coagulants (Aluminium sulphate, Moringa, Starch) on the effluent discharge of the Etoudi slaughterhouse and the Ako’o River which receives these waste products. Monthly water samples surveys were carried out on these two zones and physico-chemical analysis were done following the recommendations of Rodier and his collaborators.

This study aims to investigate the potential use of satellite observations (MODIS reflectance) to detect the seasonal change of suspended sediment flux in the RRD region. We first extract the satellite reflectance value at the location of the station and then apply simple regression analysis to the reflectance, discharge, suspended sediment, and total sediment load on the same day.

In recent years, the construction of upstream reservoirs and the extraction and structural construction activities on the river banks and beds have caused downstream changes in river morphology and hydrological regime of the Red river system, which has especially accelerated from 2000 to 2018. These dramatic variations have significantly changed the morphological characteristics and relationship between the flow and morphology that are a fundamental parameter to evaluate the stability of the channels.

In Odisha the Mahanadi is the largest river with an extensive delta responsible for most of the devastating flood hazards in the coastal zone. Over a period of 146 years between 1855 and 2000 there were 28 high flood years, 57 medium flood years and 48 low flood years (Mishra, 2008). There is a need to study the peak flood magnitude at different probability of exceedences by different probability distribution functions.

This paper presents the results of the flood frequency analysis of Meenachil river basin in Kerala using Gumbels extreme value distribution. The analysis used 34 years of data (1985-2018) to model the annual maximum discharge. The flood peak values of return period 2, 10, 50 and 100 year were computed and further extrapolation could be done to find out the flood discharge of any return period.

Aquatic pollution occurs due to the discharge of harmful substances, chemicals or microorganisms into water bodies i.e. a stream, river, lake, ocean, aquifer, or other body of water resulting in contamination & degradation of water quality and rendering it unsuitable for human use or the environment. Many advanced water treatment techniques are followed before discharging this polluted water into the surrounding environment. However some limitations is there. In this context, Biofilms have become the important part of biological treatment of municipal waste water.
