Rod bundles

In order to investigate the coolability of tight rod bundle with wire spacer, the study on CHF behavior was conducted by means of experiment for boiling two-phase flow in three-pin tight rod bundle with and without wire spacer. The effect of wire spacer and pitch to diameter ratio on CHF were considered.

The spanwise scale of the flow structures in the narrow gap remains more or less the same when the buoyancy parameter is smaller than a critical value, but otherwise it reduces visibly. Furthermore, the mixing factors between the channels due to the large flow structures in the narrow gap are, generally speaking, reduced by buoyancy.

The enhancement of heat transfer from fuel rods to coolant of a Liquid Metal Fast Reactor (LMFR) decreases the fuel temperature and, thus, improves the safety margin of the reactor. One of the mechanisms that increases heat transfer consists of large coherent structures that can occur across the gap between adjacent rods.

The present work aims at improving our understanding of nefarious reorganisation phenomena observed by numerous studies in the flow large-scale structures. 3D simulations allowed identifying two distinct reorganisations consisting in a sign change for either a transverse velocity in rod-to-rod gaps or for a subchannel vortex.

Present survey was conducted on dodder (Cuscuta gronovii) which are occupies in different locations of Raigad and Thane districts of Konkan region of Maharashtra. Dodder (Cuscuta gronovii) is complete stem parasite. Pulses are cultivated in Konkan region during Rabi season after harvest of Kharif rice. Cuscuta causes a serious problem in pulses. The surveys were conducted for host range of Cuscuta gronovii in different locations of Raigad and Thane districts of Konkan region during 2015-2016. It was observed that 37 angiospermic host plants belonging to 14 families were parasitized by C.

The effects of several physical parameters on the water sheet oscillation are studied by determining the variation of the temporal growth rate with the wavenumber. It is found that a larger relative steam velocity to water velocity has a tendency to destabilize the water sheet with increased dynamic pressure. On the other hand, a larger ratio of steam boundary layer to the half water sheet thickness has a stabilizing effect on the water sheet oscillation.

The wire-wrapped fuel bundle is an assembly design in a sodium-cooled fast reactor. A wire spacer is used to maintain a constant gap between rods and to enhance the mixing of coolants. The wire makes the flow complicated by creating a sweeping flow and vortex flow. The vortex affects the flow field and heat transfer inside the subchannels.
