In the present study, we have made an attempt to prepare complexed PVA-PVP-KNO3-BaTiO3 blend composite polymer electrolyte membranes composed of potassium nitrate (KNO3) as salt and BaTiO3 of various concentrations as filler and studied their properties. The advantages of addition the fillers are the increase in ionic conductivity at room temperatures and the improvement of the stability at the interface with electrodes.

Salinity is one of the most devastating abiotic stresses limiting crop production. Considering this issue, a pot experiment was conducted at Sher-e-Bangla Agricultural University, Dhaka, Bangladesh during the boro season (2017-2018) using two rice (Oryza sativa L.) varieties, namely BRRI dhan28 (salt sensitive) and BRRI dhan47 (salt tolerant), to assess the effects of varied salinity levels on the growth and the performance of the rice varieties under salt stress conditions.

This study focuses on the stability of nano-emulsions produced by phase inversion temperature method using n-Decane and n-Dodecane as the dispersed phase and pure water/brine as the aqueous phase (continuous phase). A non-ionic surfactant (Brij 30) was used in the preparation of the nano-emulsions. Three different types salt namely \(NaCl\), \(KCl\) and \(MgC{l_2}\) were used at different concentrations.

The influence of Na2SO4 as a kosmotropic salt on the thermogelation of xyloglucan (XG) solutions was measured by rheology. The gelation occurred at lower temperatures and shorter times when the salt concentration was increased above 0.5 mol.L−1. For Na2SO4 concentrations equal to 1 mol.L−1, a not thermoreversible elastic hydrogel was obtained.

Modafinil is a drug used in the treatment of narcolepsy, approved by the FDA in 1998. In previous studies, modafinil was easily synthesized through three stages, in the Bunte salt medium, the overall yield of 74,56 %. The quality of the modafinil was evaluated following USP 41. The results have shown that the synthesized modafinil satisfied quality requirements in pharmacopoeia.

Adsorptive cathodic stripping voltammetric determination of aluminum at ng mL −1 levels in salt samples based on the metal complexation with Calcon (1-(2-hydroxynaphthylazo)-2 naphthol-4-sulfonic acid) and the subsequent adsorptive deposition onto a hanging mercury drop electrode was studied. Central composite design was used as a design method. The procedure is simple: to a known amount of sulfite in the polarographic cell (HAc, pH 6 or 7) is added an unknown Hg(II) sample. The Hg(II) concentration is calculated simply from the decrease in the sulfite peak after reaction with Hg(II). The limit of detection was 1 × 10 −6 M (S/N = 3) in this medium, which could not be obtained with most other mercury determination methods. The proposed new method exhibits high selectivity, sensitivity, reproducibility, and accuracy.

In this work, new tunable aryl alkyl pyrazolium tetrafluoroborate ionic liquids/salts, 2-ethyl-1-(p-X-phenyl)-3,5- dimethylpyrazolium tetrafluoroborate [X: -Br (4a), -OCH3 (4b), -NO2 (4c)] and 2-butyl-1-(p-X-phenyl)-3,5-dimethylpyrazolium tetrafluoroborate [X: -Br (5a), -OCH3 (5b), -NO2 (5c)], were synthesized by following halide-free synthetic route. Their chemical structures were identified through NMR (1 H, 13C, 19F), IR, elemental analysis, and HRMS data. The synthesized 4a-4c and 5a-5c salts were used for the removal studies of methyl orange dye from aqueous solutions.
