Selective harmonics elimination

This paper presents a pulse-width modulation strategy for common mode voltage elimination in the three-level neutral point clamped (NPC) inverter with reduced common mode voltage spikes. The strategy utilizes the three zero common mode voltage vectors in the space vector diagram and is implemented by using a carrier-based pulse-width modulation (PWM) technique.

We present in this paper a control method of a novel hybrid parallel active power filter (HPAPF) used for harmonic currents elimination and reactive power compensation in the power system for threephase variable frequency drives (VFDs). The HPAPF configuration is built from two basically filter components including harmonics tuned passive filter and active power electronics filter.

In order to optimize the electric energy quality of HVDC access point, a modular multilevel selective harmonic elimination pulse-width modulation (MSHE-PWM) method is proposed. On the basis of keeping the minimum action frequency of the power device, MSHE-PWM method can meet the requirement for accurately eliminating low-order harmonics in the output PWM waveform.
