This is a qualitative collective case study that seeks to understand the phenomena of graffiti and its related subcultures. By employing Interpretivist techniques, the research attempts to raise questions about harm minimisation, zero tolerance and graffiti, as well as broaden the debate about these distinct policy approaches for local communities. The research setting encompasses the geographic area of the Knox municipality, situated in outer eastern Melbourne.

In seeking to answer the above questions the following objectives have been set for the present research: 1. To investigate the need for KM education in the LIS sector; 2. To analyse the trend toward inclusion of a knowledge management element in the education of LIS students over the period 1997-2007; 3. To identify the approach to KM education in the LIS sector; 4. To understand the parameters of Knowledge Management as seen from within Library and Information Science Education; 5.

This study was conducted to explore information-seeking processes among primary school children using the Internet in a school setting. This chapter outlines the rationale for the research, describes the importance of information seeking for primary school children, and articulates the research problems. The research objectives and questions are then discussed, followed by a description of contribution to knowledge. The chapter concludes by outlining the organisation of the thesis.

In this study a set of research questions were asked to the respondents to identify the impact of financial literacy on customer satisfaction towards banking services. It was found that level of financial literacy was low among the respondents and there is no significant impact of financial literacy on overall customer satisfaction.

The purpose of this research is to analyse the attitudes and believes of Irish investors towards green and ethical investments. Why they invest in green, is it profit maximisation or ethical considerations and what are the barriers for green investments. How feasible is the government policy and targets set for greening the Irish economy by 2020.

The primary research carried out in this thesis consists of two questionnaires administered online, the first directed at Brazilians living in Ireland and the second directed at potential Irish visitors to Brazil. These surveys investigate the demand, interest, price range and possible destination airports for a direct air service between Brazil and Ireland. Based on the first survey of three hundred Brazilians who are resident in Ireland and the second survey of fifty-two Irish potential visitors to Brazil, price ranges for the flight service from both categories are obtained.

Let f be a real-valued function on a compact set in Rn , and let m be a positive integer. We show how to decide whether f extends to a Cm function on Rn . Introduction Continuing from [F2], we answer the following question (“Whitney’s extension problem”; see [hW2]). Question 1. Let ϕ be a real-valued function defined on a compact subset E of Rn . How can we tell whether there exists F ∈ C m (Rn ) with F = ϕ on E? Here, m ≥ 1 is given, and C m (Rn ) denotes the space...

We construct a proper C 2 -smooth function on R4 such that its Hamiltonian flow has no periodic orbits on at least one regular level set. This result can be viewed as a C 2 -smooth counterexample to the Hamiltonian Seifert conjecture in dimension four. 1. Introduction The “Hamiltonian Seifert conjecture” is the question whether or not there exists a proper function on R2n whose Hamiltonian flow has no periodic orbits on at least one regular level set.

A well-known open question is whether every countable collection of Lipschitz functions on a Banach space X with separable dual has a common point of Fr´chet differentiability. We show that the answer is positive for e some infinite-dimensional X. Previously, even for collections consisting of two functions this has been known for finite-dimensional X only (although for one function the answer is known to be affirmative in full generality).

The basic distinction between already known algorithmic characterizations of matroids and antimatroids is in the fact that for antimatroids the ordering of elements is of great importance. While antimatroids can also be characterized as set systems, the question whether there is an algorithmic description of antimatroids in terms of sets and set functions was open for some period of time.
