  • This article presents two methods to determine pressing forces to the M1 copper plate. The first approach employs the upper-bound method, and the second method combines numerical simulation with a central composite design. The upper-bound method uses physical analysis to determine the deformation zone and establish the division of the rigid block model. The findings were identical to the slip-line solution method.

  • In this study, a surrogate model based on artificial neural networks (ANN) will be established to predict the mechanical behaviors of the plastic Primitive TPMS reinforced beams. Finite element analysis (FEA) simulation results of different numbers of reinforcement layers and volume fractions were adopted as the model data, the robust model have been owing to a hyperparameter tuning investigation.

  • In this paper, the author proposes a new approach (method) to design the pile raft foundation to optimize the number of piles required and suit the geology for each specific building. In which the first the required minimum number of piles with a given safety coefficient (of the pile) is determined then simulates (digitizes) the interaction of pile raft foundation with the ground by the finite element method (FEM) to design the foundation with different load options.

  • The paper "Nonlinear finite element approach for contact problems in hyper-elastic models" considers the contact problems between hyper-elastic bodies by using finite element analysis (FEA). In this study, high-order elements is used with its advantages such as less element usage, more accurate results and geometrical flexibility... The contribution of this paper is development of programs that can calculate and simulate the specific contact problem between hyper-elastic bodies.

  • The eXtended Finite Element Method (XFEM) produces high effectiveness in analyzing the crack propagation in structures. In this approach, the crack is modeled through enrichment functions instead of explicitly represented on the geometry. This study presents an object-oriented program to simulate crack propagation in 2-dimensional structures.

  • This study presents thermodynamic approaches for selecting a hydrate former suitable for water treatment. Here, carbon dioxide (CO2) and 1,1,1,2-tetrafluoroethane (HFC-134a) were investigated as hydrate formers. Simulated studies of the hydrate formation by four formers were conducted at different NaCl concentrations (0.00, 1.75, and 3.50 wt%) to predict the phase-equilibrium conditions.

  • Epidermal growthfactor receptor(EGFR) and human epithelium receptor-2(HER2) are members of the epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR/ErbB) family implicated in the development of many types of carcinoma. Zanthoxylum simulans Hance has the effect of inhibiting growth and causing the death of many types of cancer cells. In this study, the molecular docking method and molecular dynamics simulations were used to evaluate the inhibition abilities of EGFR and HER2 receptors of 120 compounds in Zanthoxylum simulans Hance.

  • This paper suggests the balanced approach of the new two-sided group chain sampling plan (NTSGCh) which operates with four acceptance criteria. The lifetime distribution of Log-logistic is used in this study, and the method of time truncated life test simulation is conducted. The findings proved that the NTSGCh performed better than the NTSCoGCh. Therefore, the NTSGCh is a worthy option for implementation in lot inspection in the manufacturing industry.

  • Ebook "Modeling in systems biology: The petri net approach" aims to meet a challenge that previously has been largely avoided by the Petri net community. The community used to be content with the demonstration that Petri nets were able to simulate quite a large number of partial systems when their homogeneity permitted a rather restricted application of the Petri net methodology. The proof of principle used to say that Petri net models can simulate otherwise established theoretical descriptions.
