Calendula officinalis L. is a commercially important plant that finds application in the treatment of various diseases in traditional medicine. The total antioxidant capacity, radical scavenging activity, and total phenolic content of marigold extracts were investigated by Folin, CUPRAC, and DPPH assays, respectively. The optimum operating conditions of microwave-assisted extraction (MAE) including temperature, extraction time, solvent-to-solid ratio, and solvent concentration were ascertained by employing response surface methodology (RSM).

This study is an evidence in order to extract the highest polyphenol from green tea leaves in aqueous ethanol conditions. The response surface methodology (RSM) was used to optimize the extraction conditions of polyphenol. Four factors that effect to the extraction process are the concentration of ethanol, the solvent-material ratio, the temperature and time of extraction.

Response surface methodology was applied to optimize the extraction of phenolic compounds from fresh Pouzolzia zeylanica plant using hot water as a solvent. A central composite design (CCD) in form (23+star) was used to investigate the effects of two independent variables, namely, extraction temperature (70 to 90oC) and extraction time (20 to 40 min).

This study aims to employ highly efficient ultrasound-assisted extraction of tamanu oil from seed kernel. Response surface methodology (RSM) with Box-Hunter design was used to investigate the simultaneous effects of multi-factors encompassing extraction time, temperature, and solvent-to-material ratio. The optimum combination of those factors was then determined to ensure optimum extraction efficiencies [12, 13]. The extracted oil was evaluated in terms of physicochemical indexes, composition, and wound healing activity.

In the present study workouts have been made to develop protein isolate from custard apple seed by using RSM (Response surface methodology). The variable considers percent pH, NaOH concentration and Flour to solvent ratio 15 g of flour. As previous literature was not available preliminary trials were conducted to decide the approximate concentration of pH, NaOH concentration and Flour to solvent ratio 15 g of flour. On the basis of trials ranges of variable decided which were 7 to 11% for pH, 0.6 to 2 (Molar) NaOH concentration and 20 to 60 % Flour to solvent ratio.

In this paper, the influence of the extraction parameters—temperatures (60–80 °C), times (80–120 min), and solvent ratios (70:30–90:10) of water:ethanol were investigated using response surface methodology in order to determine the optimum extraction conditions that could produce maximum extraction yields of the phenolic compounds and the highest anti-radical activity of the C. nutans extract.

The extraction conditions of polyphenols from Camellia dalatensis leaves were optimized by experimental design with five variables using Design-Expert V11.1.0.1 software. Using the methodology of response surface optimization, the optimal polyphenol extraction conditions were found to be an ethanol concentration of 49.29%, temperature at 60°C, a sonication time of 40min, a material size of 0.5mm, and a solvent/material ratio of 5.47.
