Eclipta prostrata (L.) is a traditional herbal medicine belonging to the Eclipta genus in the Asteraceae family. This plant is widely distributed in tropical and subtropical regions such as South America and Asia. According to the traditional medicine of some Asian countries (China, India, Thailand), E. prostrata is used to treat hepatic and renal diseases, diabetes, skin diseases, respiratory disorders, cool blood, and stanch bleeding.

The deficiency of secure and reliable electrical power is a constraint to firm performance and its competitiveness in developing countries. Several countries in the south Asian region face electricity shortages leading to frequent power outages. This study investigate the effect of power outages on the technical efficiency of firms in selected South Asian countries. The study employed the stochastic frontier approach to estimate the technical efficiency of firms. We use the OLS and Beta regression to estimate the effect of power outages on technical efficiency of manufacturing firms.

This study observes the factors affecting the changes of energy intensity in Indonesia and five selected Association of South East Asian Nations (ASEAN) countries during the period (1971-2016) particularly measuring its impact during 1997 financial crisis. By employing the Logaritmic Mean Divisia Index, this study summaries that the changes in energy intensity in the ASEAN-6 economies was a result of the changes within industry energy intensity (intensity effect). The intensity effects also provide a proxy measure of energy efficiency activity at the sectoral level.
