Nghiên cứu này được thực hiện nhằm đánh giá khả năng kháng của 50 chủng xạ khuẩn Streptomyces đối với bệnh đốm đen trên quả cam do Pseudomonas syringae P01 gây ra, bệnh thối mềm trên quả cà chua do Pectobacterium carotovorum Ecc4 và bệnh thối mềm trên quả đu đủ do Erwinia papayae M16 gây ở điều kiện in vitro bằng phương pháp kẻ vạch vuông góc.

Feathers cause environmental problems worldwide when poultry processing industries produce it as a waste of billions of tons yearly. This waste is not easily decomposed by natural agents in a short time. Currently, Streptomyces spp. are known as a highly enzymatic activity species which can efficiently degrade feathers to products. Therefore, the aim of this study was to screen for Streptomyces strains with high feather-degrading activity.

Erwinia is a genus of Enterobacteriacea containing mostly pathogens, which cause soft rot disease in many ornamental plants and crops, including Asparagus officinalis. Chemical treatments to control Erwinia have lost their attractiveness because of the development of resistant strains and the negative impacts on the environment and human health.

In the present study it was aimed to obtain novel strains of actinomycetes that have the ability to promote plant growth. For this, seven soil samples from the rhizosphere of Humulus lupulus (Pazaryeri, Bilecik) were used and potential isolates were obtained. 16S rRNA genes of 30 isolates were amplified by PCR and sequenced. Eighteen isolates were found to be closely related to Streptomycetes spp. and they were tested for their proteolytic activity, cellulase activity, phosphate solubility, IAA production, biofilm formation, and growth in nitrogen-limited medium.

The present research was undertaken with an aim to isolate and characterize antifungal compounds from actinomycetes and optimization of cultural characteristics for production of bioactive metabolite by actinomycetes. The objective of the present investigation was to isolate and identify the antimicrobial activity showing actinomycetes associated with sponges. Sponges such as Acanthella klethra, Theonella cylendrica, Helicona sp., Auletta sp., and Callyspongia sp. were collected at Sangumal, in Rameswaram island, Ramanathapuram District, Tamil Nadu, India. Isolates of 22 actinomycetes were isolated from sponges. Isolates No. 16 showed high antibacterial and antifungal activity and the isolate was identified as Streptomyces sp.

The aimed of the study is screening of antibiotic producing Streptomyces isolates. Thirty soil samples, collected from different areas in the city of Baghdad, were screened for Streptomyces effectiveness as a source for active antibacterial, 26 (86.6%) samples were suspected to contain Streptomyces, out of them, 24 (80%) isolates were obtained with different morphological characteristics.

Streptomyces spp. ANSP4 and ANSCa22 isolated earlier from rhizospheric soil of Akola district of Maharashtra were studied for their biocontrol potential against Rhizoctonia bataticola isolates from the same region. Both Streptomyces strains ANSP4 and ANSCa22 revealed growth inhibition of Rhizoctonia bataticola isolates R1 and R2 by dual culture method. Efficacy of independent applications of these strains on seedlings vigor index (SVI) of R1 inoculated Soybean seeds were tested by paper towel method. R1 inoculation of healthy soybean seeds resulted in drastic reduction in SVI from 1515.
