The goal of the thesis: The thesis examined the effect of different nanostructured morphologies in conductive polymer films (PPy, PANi) on NH3 gas sensitivity. The thesis fabricated the nanostructured hybrid films between metal oxide (NiO) and conductive polymer (PPy) successfully and examined the NH3 gas sensitivity properties of the NiO / PPy hybrid film.

Objectives of the dissertation: Successfully synthesis polymers containing suitable funtional groups to seperate the light rare earth element (La, Nd, Pr, and Ce); evaluted the efficiency of polymers on seperating light rare earth element; evaluated the ability of polymers on separating each of the rare earth metal ions on the ion exchange column.

The main contents of the thesis: Synthesis and characterization of Fe3O4 nanoparticles, -Fe2O3 nanoparticles and γ-Fe2O3 nanoparticles by hydrothermal method. Compare the corrosion protection ability of epoxy film containing synthetic iron oxide particles. Fabrication and evaluation of steel corrosion protection effect of epoxy membrane containing magnetic iron oxide nanoparticles and nano iron oxide from organic denaturation with some silane compounds and with corrosion inhibiting compound.

The research part comprised a systematic study of the synthesis and phase separation of Interpenetrating Polymer Network (IPN) gels consisting of crosslinked polyurethane (CPU) and polymethacrylic acid (PMA). CPU was prepared by crosslinking polyaddition between the triblock polyalkylene oxide (ethylene oxide-propylene oxide-ethylene oxide), diisocyanate, crosslinker (triethanolamine) and chain extender (1,4-butanediol). IPN gels based on CPU and PMA were formed by the sequential interpenetrating polymerization (two-stage procedure).

In this communication, we report the synthesis of chitosan (CS, a biodegradable and biocom- patible natural polymer) [1] nanoparticles as drug carriers by ionic gelation. The method is based on ionic interactions between positively charged groups NH3 + of CS (in dilute CH3COOH solution) and negatively charged of sodium tripolyphos- phate, TPP).

This study is focused on the synthesis of a polyindole doped by indole-3 butyric acid (PI-IBA). IR analyze indicated that the linkage positions of indole involves the position 2 and 3 of the monomer and the insertion of IBA in the polymer backbone. Polyindole IBA doped was incorporated into epoxy resin for protection anticorrosion of carbon steel. The electrochemical impedance measurements show a significantly improvement of protective properties in presence of PI-IBA in comparison with pure epoxy and epoxy containing polyindole coating.
