The number of porcine Single Nucleotide Polymorphisms (SNPs) used in genetic association studies is very large, suitable for statistical testing. However, in breed classification problem, one needs to have a much smaller porcine-classifying SNPs (PCSNPs) set that could accurately classify pigs into different breeds.

The present study has aimed to test the accuracy of Forecast error (FE) value of wheat yield through non-linear models in Bihar. For this study, there were four models namely Monomolecular, Logistic, Gompertz and Compound growth model has been taken under study. The best suitable non-linear model is selected on the basis of different statistic i.e. MAPE, RMSE, OSAF, % FE. These were computed for various growth models under the three agro-climatic zones of Bihar and also for whole Bihar state.

Recognising the pattern of pest infestation helps greatly to understand the changes in the population dynamics due to several biological, environmental and climatological factors. As data are count in nature, suitable choice of distribution as well as linear or non-linear growth models are obvious to capture the variability present the population. If data are not properly fitted, integrity of scientific inference will be at stake. Hence, in the present study, an attempt has been made to fit appropriate discrete distributions along with the usual linear and non-linear modular approach.

Fused deposition modelling (FDM) is gaining distinct advantage in manufacturing industries because of its ability to manufacture parts with complex shapes without any tooling requirement and human interface. The properties of FDM built parts exhibit high dependence on process parameters and can be improved by setting parameters at suitable levels. Anisotropic and brittle nature of build part makes it important to study the effect of process parameters to the resistance to compressive loading for enhancing service life of functional parts.

In this study, Wood Ash (WA) prepared from the uncontrolled burning of the saw dust is evaluated for its suitability as partial cement replacement in conventional concrete. The saw dust has been acquired from a wood polishing unit. The physical, chemical and mineralogical characteristics of WA is presented and analyzed.
