In this study, Taguchi's experimental design method was used to improve the yield of FOX-7. Verification of the results shows that the optimal synthesis parameters are as follows: the molar ratio of HNO3/MPD is 8, the reaction time is 180 minutes, and the reaction temperature is 15°C; the maximum yield of FOX-7 can reach 79.14%.

ZnO powder was synthesized via a hydrothermally assisted sol-gel method. Synthesis variables including Znprecursor type, pH value, time, and temperature of hydrothermal treatment were analyzed using the Taguchi approach. The experimental procedures were defined based on the L9 array for four variables in three levels. The influences of those variables on the response parameters, i.e. crystallite size, crystallinity, band gap energy (Eg), and degradation constants (k), were evaluated. XRD results and Eg values showed that ZnO wurtzite appeared to be the only crystalline phase in the samples.

For the first time, ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene (UHMWPE) was produced in gas phase process with a new fluidized bed concept where the solids are dispersed phase and the gas is bulk phase as opposed to conventional fluidized bed reactors (FBRs). With this concept, UHMWPE with average molecular weights about 1-6,9 × 10 6 g moles −1 were produced with a commercial supported Ziegler-Natta catalyst by using a gas phase mini semibatch reactor system.

This paper presented a combined theoretical and experimental design methods to determine optimal parameters of a centrifugal pendulum vibration absorber (CPVAs), such as spring stiffness, damper oil viscosity, moment of uinertia of the system components, number of absorbers and assembly position. Experimental results indicated that the turning in spray cooling environment was beneficial compared to that in dry environment for the quality response characteristics under consideration. The mathematical relationship between the machining parameters and the performance characteristics was formulated by using a linear regression model with interactions. Optimal levels of parametric combination for achieving the higher surface quality with maximum productivity were selected by grey relational analysis which is based on the high value of grey relational grade. Confirmation experiments were carried out to prove the powerful improvement of experimental results and to validate the effectiveness of the multi-optimization technique applied in this paper.

The purpose of this work is to provide a complete study of the influence of operational parameters of the supercritical carbon dioxide assisted extraction (SC CO2E) on yield of wedelolactone from Wedelia calendulacea Less., and to find an optimal combination of factors that maximize the wedelolactone yield. In order to determine the optimal combination of the four factors viz. operating pressure, temperature, modifier concentration and extraction time, a Taguchi experimental design approach was used: four variables (three levels) in L9 orthogonal array.

(BQ) In this study, the effect of machining parameters of EDM process including on-time, current, voltage, the engaging time between workpiece and electrode, and pre-EDM roughing on electrode wear were experimentally investigated. Main effects of factors and interactions were considered in this paper and regression equation was derived. A L50 (21 × 511) Taguchi’s standard orthogonal array was employed as experimental design. Copper was used as electrode to machine the hot work tool steel 1.2714, which is widely used to make forging dies and mandrels.
