In the present study fruits are considered to provide a wide range of mineral elements. Minor fruits of south Gujarat specially Artocarpus heterophyllus L., Tamarindus indica L., Zizyphus mauritiana L. and Emblica officinalis L. are mainly conserved and consumed by tribals in very restricted area though have every potentiality of production in this environmental conditional survey experiment was undertaken to determine mineral in above mentioned minor fruits.

Bài viết này được thực hiện với mục tiêu phân lập chất tinh khiết và khảo sát tác dụng kháng oxy hóa in vitro bằng thử nghiệm quét gốc tự do DPPH của các cao chiết từ lá me (Tamarindus indica L.). Từ đó, bằng kỹ thuật sắc ký cột và biện giải cấu trúc bằng phương pháp phổ NMR, lần đầu tiên phân lập được một flavonoid C-glucoside tinh khiết là vitexin.

The freshly prepared pulp is light brown in colour, but darkens on storage. Generally, under dry conditions, the pulp remains good for about one year, after which it becomes almost black. The storage quality depends on temperature and packing materials. Hence the present study was undertaken with an objective to study the storage quality of selected tamarind clones.

A field trail in a complete Randomized Design was conducted at Bidhan Chandra Krishi Viswavidyalaya, West Bengal during 2010-2011 to assess the growth, flowering, fruiting, yield and quality of tamarind of five varieties namely PKM-1, Urigam, Vantoor, Red and Sweet. The results indicated superiority of variety PKM-1 with plant height (445.33- 569 cm), East-west canopy expansion (458.67- 604.00 cm), number of fruit retention panicle-1 (44.33%), TSS (480 Brix), total sugar (40.33 g) with lower acidity (6.7 mg).

Among Arid Zone Fruits, tamarind, Tamarindus indica L. of the family Leguminosae is a major fruit crop. Survey was conducted to find out major disease of tamarind and found black pod disease was major constraints. Black pod of tamarind incidence was observed range from 8.00 -22 per cent in pod on tree and incidence in storage was observed 5-22.5 per cent at different location in Jhalawar district during 2013 to 2017. Subsequently, the pathogen was isolated and pure culture of fungus established.

Tamarindus indica L. is a multipurpose tropical tree used primarily because its fruits and leaves have eatable properties. Both parts of the plant have also medicinal uses, but in the specific case of the leaves, little information about their chemical composition is available. The study was conducted to determine the phytochemical composition and antibacterial activity. Extract of Tamarindus indica leaves, fruit and seed coat powders were prepared in different solvent media viz. aqueous, aqueous methanol.

Blended sapota and tamarind jelly cube was prepared by using various proportions of sapota and tamarind fruit juices viz. 100:00, 90:10, 85:15, 80:20, 75:25 and 70:30 with 0.5 per cent level of citric acid. The blended sapota and tamarind jelly cube was evaluated for physical, chemical and sensory quality parameters during 90 days of storage to standardize the proportion of sapota and tamarind fruit juices in the blended jelly. An increasing trend in moisture, TSS, reducing sugars and total sugars and decreasing trend in titratable acidity was observed during storage period of 90 days.

An experiment was conducted on effect of different age of rootstocks on success of softwood grafting in tamarind. Higher percentage of graft success (70.39%), grafts survivability (70.95%), sprouting per cent (14.40%), minimum days taken for sprouting (12.52) and number of sprouts (7.23) were noticed in T7 (6 month old rootstocks). The maximum graft height (37.31 cm), graft diameter (7.92 mm), length of sprouts (19.02 cm) and number of leaves (41.35) were noticed in T7.

Genetic variability, heritability, genetic advance and genetic advance as a per cent over mean for twenty characters were assessed by field evaluation (part of survey) of two thirty one tamarind genotypes in six districts (viz, Belagavi, Dharwad, Gadag, Bellary, Chitradurga and Gulbarga) with different location during 2018. High degree of variation was observed for all characters. In all cases, phenotypic variances were higher than the genotypic variance.

The results showed that, these soil macro and micro nutrients ranges are also beneficial to the fruitfulness of tamarinds. Hence, it can be concluded that, there is no effect of soil macro and micro nutrients in unfruitfulness of sole orchard and fruitfulness of bund orchard in tamarind. It might be effect of shading in sole crops for unfruitfulness and in case of bund crop orchards it could get proper aeration and sunlight properly.
