-
The foundations of this study is based on the technical definitions of multimedia and active learning, along with practical examples that show how they can be crucial components in enhancing education. A system is improved, with implementation and testing of tools and applications that integrate interactive media in a real course. Results produced from the system solidifies the statement of interactive media having the capabilities of making active learning and teaching possible and practical, bringing effective and productive benefits to education.

The present paper follows the same approach as that of Turner and Bowen (1999). The Multinomial regression is specified as P ðMi ¼ jÞ¼ðexpðbj XiÞ= P5 j1 expðbj XiÞÞ, where P (Mi¼ j) denotes the probability of choosing outcome j, the particular course/major choice that categorizes different disciplines. This response variable is specified with five categories: such as medicine, engineering, other professional courses, science and humanities.

Open educational resources just supply potentials to help equalize the access to worldwide knowledge and education, but themselves alone do not cause effective learning or education. How to make effective use of the resources is still a big challenge. In this study, a technical mode is proposed to collect the open educational resources from different sources on the Internet into a campus-network-based resource management system. The system facilitates free and easy access to the resources for instructors and students in universities and integrates the resources into learning and teaching.

Learning is an active, social process. However, many distance education programs are flat and asynchronous with limited interaction. Virtual environments may be best equipped to foster an active social learning environment that provides optimal distance education. This study explored how nursing informatics students perceived the strengths and limitations of three different online modalities of learning: Learning Management System, Webinar, and Virtual Environments.

In recent years, there has been a growing increase in using Learning Management System (LMS) by universities. However, its utilization by students is limited in Malaysia. The main purpose of the present study is to develop and test a model that predicts LMS utilization by Malaysian higher education students. Based on the Technology Acceptance Model, the study investigated the relationships among six constructs (system interactivity, technical support, perceived ease of use, perceived usefulness, behavioral intention to use and LMS use) through structural equation modelling.

Research on online interactions during a learning situation to better understand users' practices and to provide them with quality-oriented features, resources and services is attracting a large community. As a result, the interest for sharing educational data sets that translate the interactions of users with elearning systems has become a hot topic today. However, the current systems aggregating social and usage data about their users suffer from a series of weaknesses. In particular, they lack a common information model that would allow for exchanges of interaction data at a large scale.

If multiple options exist, engineers weigh different design choices on their merits and choose the solution that best matches the requirements. The crucial and unique task of the engineer is to identify, understand, and interpret the constraints on a design in order to produce a successful result. It is usually not enough to build a technically successful product; it must also meet further requirements.

Income tax rates are at the center of many recent policy debates over taxes. Some policymakers argue that raising tax rates, especially on higher income taxpayers, to increase tax revenues is part of the solution for long-term debt reduction. For example, in the 112th Congress the Senate passed the Middle Class Tax Cut (S. 3412), which would allow the 2001 and 2003 Bush-era tax cuts to expire for taxpayers with income over $250,000 ($200,000 for single taxpayers). Other policymakers argue that maintaining low tax rates is necessary to foster economic growth.

The previous section indicates that skills obtained after high school are central to workforce preparedness. The U.S. system of post-high school education and training has a diversity of options to obtain these skills, including four-year colleges, community colleges, private two-year colleges, public and private vocational-technical institutions, community-based organizations, and formal apprenticeship programs.

Universities seem not well prepared to ‘educate’ transformation skills. Like undergraduate programs, most MBA programs focus on traditional, disciplinary knowledge (e.g. marketing, accounting / finance, human resources, operations management, and information systems), although complex transformations require cross-disciplinary skills. Even at renowned business schools, integrated, cross-disciplinary pro- grams focusing on change are hard to find (Team Denzler, 2002). If they exist at all, ‘change’ programs often are restricted to soft factors and exclude technology issues.

This monograph reports on the nature of private post-school technical and vocational education and training (TVET) within the further education and training (FET) band in the South African education system. It provides, for the first time, empirical data about the participants, the location and ownership of institutions, the programmes offered, and the delivery of private TVET provision in the country, as well as case studies which explore the character of the sector.

Service delivery for NTD control in Kenya and most African countries has primarily been through a vertical approach and has not fully leveraged the contribution of other sectors. GHI in Kenya will provide technical assistance to GOK’s health sector in facilitating the incorporation of NTD prevention and management into maternal and child health platforms, and into the educational system to reach adolescents. GHI will work with the GOK Ministries of Education, Medical Services and Public Health and Sanitation on the implementation of the interventions.
