The surface of mesocellular silica foam (MCF) was modified by grafting 3-aminopropyl-triethoxysilane (APTES) to have a positive charge, and thus to provide sites for the immobilization of H3PW12O40(PW12). This modified nanosized mesoporous silica (PW12-APTES@MCF) was characterized by FTIR, XRD, BET, and TEM. XRD and adsorption–desorption analysis shows that the mesostructure of silica remains intact after various modifications, while the spectral technique shows the successful grafting of the neat PW12 inside the porous silica support.

SiO2 supported core@shell nanoparticles (CSNs) have recently attracted great attention due to their unique, tunable, optical, photocatalytic, and higher adsorption properties. In this study, SiO2@CeO2 CSNs were synthesized using a chemical precipitation technique and characterized by Fourier transform infrared (FT-IR), X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscope (SEM), and transmission electron microscope (TEM) analysis. XRD analysis showed that SiO2 particles were the core while CeO2 particles were the shell.

: Porous magnetite (Fe3 O4 ) and hematite (α-Fe2 O3 ) nanoparticles were prepared via the sol-gel auto-combustion method. The gels were prepared by reacting ferric nitrates (as oxidants) with starch (as fuel) at an elevated temperature of 200 °C. Different ratios (Φ) of ferric nitrates to starch were used for the synthesis (Φ = fuel/oxidant).

A facile route was used for the fabrication of NdFeO3 (NF) perovskite. The orthorhombic structure of single phase nanocrystalline NdFeO3 perovskite was confirmed by different characterization techniques: XRD, FTIR, TEM, BET, SEM, and EDAX. The nanoperovskite was successfully used as a sensor component with a carbon paste electrode (CpE) for the determination of ketotifen in pharmaceutical formulations. Ketotifen, an antiallergic drug, is utilized for the treatment of asthma attacks, rhinitis, skin allergies, and anaphylaxis.

Nickel ferrite magnetic nanoparticles (NiFe2O4MNPs) were prepared via the autocombustion assisted solgel method. The efficient catalyst was investigated by FT-IR, XRD, ICP, SEM, and TEM techniques. A one-pot, three-component reaction is reported for the synthesis of substituted 4H -chromenes in the presence of NiFe2O4 MNPs as a reusable catalyst in a green solvent at 40◦C under clean, efficient, and mild conditions. Furthermore, selected products were characterized by FT-IR, 1H NMR, and 13C NMR. The single-crystal X-ray analysis of product 4u was also conclusively confirmed.

In this study, silver nanoparticle (AgNP) synthesis was carried out using Onosma sericeum Willd. aqueous extract for the first time, with a simple, economical, and green method without the need for any other organic solvent or external reducing or stabilizing agent. A variety of AgNPs, all of different particle sizes, were synthesized by controlling the silver ion concentration, extract volume, temperature, and pH. It was determined that the optimum conditions for AgNP synthesis were 1 mM AgNO3 , pH 8, 25 °C, 20 g/200 mL extract, silver nitrate, and extract ratio 5:1 (v/v).
