In this paper, we discuss the efficiency of using a Fe2V4O13 catalyst in a heterogeneous Fenton-like process for the degradation and mineralization of Ind. We examined various factors that influence the reaction, such as the initial pH of the reaction mixture, the initial concentration of hydrogen peroxide, the amount of the Fe2V4O13 catalyst, and the reaction temperature was investigated.

At present, the methanol electrooxidation reaction (MOR) activities of carbon supported bimetallic Pt-Ru (M-PtRu@C) catalyst and monometallic Pt (M-Pt@C) catalysts prepared via microwave assisted polyol method and carbon supported Pt-Ru (P-PtRu@C) catalysts prepared by conventional polyol were examined to investigate the effect of the preparation method. These catalysts were characterized by X-ray diffraction, X-ray photo electron spectroscopy, and transmission electron microscopy (TEM).

In this study, the synthesis of a novel 1,2-dinaphthyl ethanediol substituted phthalonitrile (2) together with tetra-substituted zinc(II) phthalocyanine (Pc) (3) and cobalt(II) Pc (4) bearing 1,2-dinaphthyl ethanediol at peripheral positions was described. The aggregation behaviors of metallophthalocyanines 3 and 4 in solution were investigated by carrying out Beer–Lambert experiments at different concentrations. In addition, the catalytic activity of new cobalt(II) Pc 4 was investigated for benzyl alcohol oxidation.

Spectrophotometric monitoring of 4-nitrophenol (4-NP) reduction by sodium borohydride (NaBH4 ) using gold nanoparticles (GNPs) as a catalyst has been extensively studied, but the stability of GNPs in terms of change in the surface plasmon resonance (SPR) at different temperatures has not been explored. In the present investigation, our aim was to evaluate the SPR stability of GNPs as a catalyst during the reduction of 4-NP at different elevated temperatures (i.e. 30–60 °C) and sodium borohydride concentrations.

Consumption of excessive big quantity of trance-isomers leads to organism dysfunction at cellular level. It is established that trance-isomers metabolized in an organism much more slowly than natural cis-isomers. The work is aimed at research of technologies of reception of firm fats with the minimum maintenance of trance isomerized fat acids. At hydrogenation of vegetable oils there are various collateral reactions, including trance isomerization during which natural cis-isomers of fat acids turn to trance-isomers.

This research illustrates the results of a study on the synthesis of maleic anhydride-vinyl acetate copolymers (MAVA) with the monomer molar ratio of 1:1 by the radical polymerisation method in which benzoyl peroxide was used as a catalyst. The structure and composition of MAVA were characterised by FTIR, 1 H-NMR and 13C-NMR spectra. The molecular weight of the copolymers was determined by the viscosity method. The copolymers were then modified by the esterification reaction with hexadecanol - a long alkyl chain alcohol.

This paper investigates the eff ects of Ru/MCM-41 catalysts in the pyrolysis of waste tire using a semi-batch reactor. The pure silica support MCM-41 was synthesised via silatrane route. Prior to evaluating the activity of Ru/MCM-41 catalysts, the infl uences of MCM-41 and catalytic temperature were studied. The results indicated a strong impact of MCM-41 and catalytic temperature on the yield and nature of pyrolysis products. Oil yield fi rst decreased then increased with catalytic temperature.

The degradation of aqueous diazinon from an aqueous solution using H2O2/Fe2+ process is performed in a 1L batch chemical reactor. The extent of diazinon degradation (20 mg/L) has been investigated from a known initial pH solution, temperature and catalyst type (Fe2+, Fe3+) and for various initial concentrations of diazinon, H2O2 and Fe2+.
