In this study, piroxicam/β-cyclodextrin complexes are prepared in supercritical carbon dioxide (SC-CO2 ) in the solid state and the process was optimized using response surface methodology (RSM). UV-Vis spectroscopy, differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), and dissolution profile in water were used to characterized the complex under optimized temperature, residence time, moisture, and ternary agent.

For each selected value of pyrolysis temperature, three levels of residence time for pyrolysis process were set as 0, 60 and 120 minutes, respectively. Some properties of the final product from the pyrolysis process i.e volatile, ash content, fixed-carbon and higher heating value (HHV) were measured. The experimental results have shown that in the current range of experimental work, charcoal products could get the highest fixed-carbon content at the pyrolysis temperature of 6000C and with the residence time of 120 minutes.

Deposition of copper by electrorefining process was attained to observe the effect of the additive agents on process performance (cathode purity, surface morphology, deposition rate, current efficiency and power consumption). The deposition was done in acidic media with 40 g/l and 160 g/l concentration of cupric ions and sulfuric acid, respectively. The operating parameters were utilized: electrolyte residence time 6, 4 and 2 h, electrodes spacing 15, 30 and 45 mm, with and without addition of additive agents 3, 2.

The formation of persistent organic pollutants such as polychlorinated dibenzo-p-dioxins (PCDDs) and polychlorinated dibenzofurans (PCDFs), known collectively as dioxins, is a recognized concern for cement manufacturing. Dioxins have the potential to form if chlorine is present in the input fuel or raw materials. Formation can be repressed, however, by the high temperatures and long residence times that are standard in cement kilns (Karstensen 2008).
