The paper generalizes one practical tool for analyzing the structural dynamics for the high-speed railway bridge based on Cast3M open-source. Compared with the classical approach with the analytical formulation, KD-Railway developed by the finite element method allows defining the structure with complex geometry and considering a different type of structure (truss, cable, hybrid composite) or the structure-soil interaction.

This thesis derives closed form equations to describe electromagnetic device characteristics for a toroid, solenoid and a case study induction machine. By considering stored magnetic field energy, this approach allows the relationship between electrical, magnetic and kinetic energy to be quantified and analyzed in ways that allows improved accuracy compared with conventional magnetic circuit modeling methods. This thesis also provides insights into how geometric parameters impact energy transfer and operational characteristics of electromagnetic devices.

Recent sequencing technologies enable joint quantification of promoters and their enhancer regions, allowing inference of enhancer–promoter links. We show that current enhancer–promoter inference methods produce a high rate of false positive links. We introduce FOCS, a new inference method, and by benchmarking against ChIAPET, HiChIP, and eQTL data show that it results in lower false discovery rates and at the same time higher inference power.

In this paper, the subproblem method with using edge finite elements is proposed for coupling subproblems via several steps to treat and deal with some troubles regarding to electromagnetic problems that gets quite difficulties when directly applying a finite element method. In the strategy subproblem method, it allows a complete problem to define into several subproblems with adapted dimensions. Each subproblem can be solved on its independent domain and mesh without performing in whole domain or mesh. This easily supports meshing and decreases computing time.

This paper develops an original framework that mathematically expresses the coupling of the weight window and source biasing techniques, allowing the authors to explore the impact of inconsistent source sampling on the variance of MC results. A numerical experiment supports this new framework and suggests that certain classes of problems may be relatively insensitive to inconsistent source sampling schemes with moderate levels of splitting and rouletting.

The sorption capacity index a is proposed as a criterion parameter for assessing the quality of impregnated activated charcoals. It was found that this parameter does not depend on the dynamic conditions during the sorbent test. It was shown that values of the sorption capacity index allow to recommend iodine sorbents for industrial gas cleaning processes.

The method formulates the collaborative filtering problem as classification problems and performs classification for all users simultaneously by using a modified boosting algorithm. This allows sharing common features among different classification tasks and thus reduces the negative effect of data sparseness. Experimental results show the effectiveness of the proposed method in comparison with other methods, especially when data are sparse.

In this paper, a description method for partial shapes is introduced with the use of Fourier transformation. The overall performance of the systems is often limited by the accuracy of the underlying speech parameterization and reconstruction method. The method proposed in this paper allows accurate MFCC, F0 and tone extraction and high-quality reconstruction of speech signals assuming Mel Log Spectral Approximation filter. Its suitability for high-quality HMM-based speech synthesis is shown through evaluations subjectively.

This paper proposes a method for mining fuzzy association rules using compressed database. We also use the approach of Hedge Algebra (HA) to build the membership function for attributes instead of using the normal way of fuzzy set theory. This approach allows us to explore fuzzy association rules through a relatively simple algorithm which is faster in terms of time, but it still brings association rules which are as good as the classical algorithms for mining association rules.
