The isolation and structural elucidation

To elucidate the composition of bioactive substances from this plant, the aerial part of the plant was selected for study. This paper reported the isolation, structural identification of eleven phenolic compounds and their NO production inhibition activity.

A new megastigmane glycoside, (3S,5R,6R,9S)-6,9-epoxiionane-3,5-diol 3-O-βprimeveroside together with 7 compounds were isolated from Achyranthes aspera L. The chemical structures were elucidated through 1D-, 2DNMR, and HR-ESI-MS experiment. The absolute configuration of 1 was determined using combination of the experimental and theoretical calculation of CD spectra. Compounds 2 and 7 were reported for the first time from the genus Achyranthes.

wo germacranolide sesquiterpenes, 9β-acetoxy-3-epi-nobilium, zoapatanolide B and four benzoate ester derivatives, benzyl 2-O-β-D-glucopyranosyl-6-methoxybenzoate, benzyl 2-O-β-D-glucopyranosyl-6- hydroxybenzoate, methyl 2-O-β-D-glucopyranosylbenzoate, ficuside G were isolated from aerial part of Sigesbeckia orientalis. Structural elucidation of the isolated compounds was done using a combination of HR-ESI-MS, one-dimensional and two-dimensional NMR spectral methods, and comparison their spectral data with the previous literature.

Phytochemical studies on the methanolic extract of Barleria prionitis Linn. collected in Luang Namtha province, Laos have led to the isolation and structural elucidation of four secondary metabolites, including two iridoid glycosides: shanzhiside methyl ester (1), barlerin (2); one sterol: stigmasterol (3); and a sterol glycoside: β-sitosterol glycoside (4). Their structures were identified by spectroscopic analyses such as 1D and 2D NMR spectra.

Four secondary metabolites, including daidzein (1), genistein (2), glycitein (3), and daidzin (4) have been isolated and structural elucidated from the methanolic extract of the stems and leaves of Erythrina variegata L. collected in Hanoi city, Vietnam. In this report, the isolation, structural elucidation, and α-glucosidase inhibitory activity evaluation of the compounds from the medicinal plant are described.

From the ethyl acetate extract of the leaves of Amensiodendron chinense (Merr.) Hu (Sapindaceae), we isolated three known phenolic compounds: 4-hydroxy-3-methoxybenzaldehyde (1), methyl 3,4-dihydroxybenzoate (2), and 3,4-dihydroxybenzoic acid (3). Helicteres family widely distributed from southern China to India, Southeast Asia. There are seven species in Vietnam and described as traditional medicinal plants. The information about the chemical constituents of Helicteres hirsuta in Vietnam has not been fully reported. The focus of this thesis was to study the chemotaxonomic relationship of selected southern Australian marine brown algae of the genera Cystophora and Sargassum. Consequently, this resulted in the isolation and structure elucidation of six new terpenoids from two southern Australian marine brown algae Cystophora moniliformis and Sargassum fallax together with 10 previously reported natural products. As a result of the re-isolation of these known secondary metabolites, updated and complete structural characterisation data could be provided for the first time for 7 of these compounds.
