Long nonconding RNAs (lncRNAs) have been found to be a vital regulatory factor in the development process of human cancer, and could regarded as diagnostic or prognostic biomarkers for human cancers. Here, we aim to confirm the expression and molecular mechanism of RP11-171K16.5 (lnc171) in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC).

A food allergy is an abnormal response of the body to a certain food. Food allergy is described as an increasing disease over time in the community expectly in children. Mechanism of food allergy is complicated such as due to IgE, non IgE and mix. Symptoms of an allergic reaction can vary in type and severity, and some may even be fatal. Allergic reactions may also differ from person-toperson and change over time.

A novel frequency domain assurance criterion, called hereby Spectral Assurance Criterion (SAC), is proposed for frequency response analysis of cracked piezoelectric beam under moving load. First, a model of cracked beam bonded with a piezoelectric layer under moving harmonic load is conducted based on the double beam conception and then, analytical expressions of midspan beam deflection (mechanical response) and output charge produced in the piezoelectric layer (electric response) has been established in the frequency domain.

The paper "Dynamic response analysis of nanobeams resting on elastic foundations" uses the finite element method to study the dynamic response of nanobeams resting on an elastic foundation, taking into account the flexoelectricity effect. Timoshenko's first-order shear deformation theory is used to derive the formulations of the beam's forced vibration equation. The proposed theory and mechanical model are verified by comparing the numerical results of this work with those of the published data.

. In this study, an investigation was conducted to evaluate the expression of genes encoding SOS1, HKT1, HAK10, and NHX1 transporters in the leaf and root tissues of two contrasting rice cultivars, salt tolerant DP and salt sensitive IR28, under salt stress of 150 mM NaCl by RT-qPCR approach. RT-qPCR data revealed that the expression of HKT1, HAK10, SOS1, and NXH1 were upregulated at a higher level in the DP cultivar than in the IR28 cultivar in response to salt stress treatment.

In the present report, a novel concept of frequency response function (FRF) is introduced for piezoelectric beam. First, a model of Timoshenko beam bonded with a piezoelectric layer is established and used for deriving the conventional frequency response function acknowledged as mechanical frequency response function (MERF). Then, the output charge produced in the piezoelectric layer is calculated from the MFRF and therefore obtained frequency-dependent function is called electrical frequency response function (EFRF) for the integrated beam.

A simple and environment-friendly electrochemical method using activated glassy carbon electrodes (aGCE) for monitoring the residues of tetracycline in pork samples was developed. A two-step pretreatment procedure was established for activating the glassy carbon electrode surface, including mechanical polishing and electrochemical pretreatment. In the supporting electrolyte solution of 0.2 M sodium sulfate (at pH 2.5), the electrochemical response of TC was characterized by two irreversible oxidation peaks at +0.95 V and +1.05 V vs. saturated calomel electrode. The microdynamic mechanism of the phenomenon, which the static permittivity of sodium chloride aqueous solution with concentration of 2.8 mol/L holds constant with the change of temperature, is clarified. The equilibrium compensation between the decrement of the permittivity part due to the water molecular polarization and the increase of that originated from the ionic polarization as increasing temperature is responsible for this phenomenon. The dipole moment reduction of water molecules as rising temperature is also confirmed by the model.

This paper presents a study on the dynamic response of the micro-beams with the crab shape and cut-out holes on the whole operating faces of the beam to create the micro-perforated beam by using FEM simulation software. The obtained results show that the size and shape form of the cut-out holes affect the mechanical responses of the beam on which the holes distribute.

Ebook "Self and nonself" focuses on the origin of the immune response during the development of multicellularity (Chapters 1-4). Bacteria have developed defense systems against viruses and conversely, viruses have devised escape mechanisms that allow infection. Most of the archaea and numerous bacteria possess an elaborate system of adaptive immunity known as the CRISPR-Cas, that confers resistance to mobile genetic elements.
