Existing studies have explored the repercussions of school closures. The researchers were interested in exploring the virtual health and physical education program (VHPEP) by identifying existing practices, drawing a more profound understanding of teachers’ experiences, identifying parents’ roles played in support of their children and teachers, and finally recommending inputs for a better VHPEP.

This research investigated the opportunities provided by parents to their children with the aim of facilitating science learning and promoting careers related to science. This exploratory qualitative research used the semi-structured interview method with seven parents who were purposively sampled for the study. Their children (16 years old) had just enrolled to study pure science subjects (science stream) such as Physics at the upper secondary level of a rural school.

Rich genetic potential with wide spectrum of genetic variability is a key factor behind a successful breeding programme. New recombinants can be generated through crossing between highly diverse parents. Genetically diverse 281 RILs and their parents were grown in randomized block design in two replications under rainfed and irrigated conditions during rabi 2011-12 and 2012-13. Categorization of RILs was done by using standard statistical procedure based on qualitative and quantitative traits. RILs were evaluated for traits name.

China aster [Callistephus chinensis (L.) Nees] belongs to the family Asteraceae and is native of Northern China. It is grown commercially as cut flower for flower arrangement, interior decoration and loose flower for garland making and worshipping. A total of 30 China aster F1 hybrids developed through line x tester mating design involving 6 female and 5 male parents, were evaluated for qualitative and quantitative characters during 2016- 17. All the hybrids showed semi-double type of flower heads. Both spreading and semierect plant types were found to be dominant over erect type.

Parents of children with Type 1 Diabetes Mellitus (T1DM) have an important role in supporting diabetes management behaviours and helping to maintain their child’s healthy lifestyle. Physical activity has known benefits for children with T1DM [Diabet Med 31: 1163-1173], but children with chronic health conditions typically have low levels of physical activity.
