  • This study presents the functionalization of liquid natural rubber (LNR) by iron-mediated radical chloro-nitration over the LNR backbone, resulting in a chloro-nitro compound of liquid natural rubber (Cl-N-LNR). The chloro-nitration was prepared by a reaction of LNR with iron(III) nitrate nonahydrate and iron(III) chloride in an organic solvent. T

  • The thermogravimetric method was used to determinate the kinetic parameters as the activation energy, the pre-exponnential factor and the order of reaction. The three constituents of balsa (i.e. hemicellulose, cellulose and lignin) were well identified and the decomposition temperature region well characterized. The presence of a large quantity of water affects the thermal decomposition behaviour of wood inducing notably a maximal degradation temperature.

  • Two novel N∧O-type Schiff base ligands and the corresponding Co(II) complexes are reported. Thermogravimetric analysis indicated that the complexes are potential molecular precursors for the fabrication of cobalt and cobalt-containing nanomaterials. The significant difference in the thermal decomposition profiles is recognized as an influence of structural differences on the complexes. Thus, the complexes were thermally decomposed using the melt and hot injection methods to examine the properties of the obtained cobalt and cobalt sulfide nanoparticles, respectively.

  • The addition of the sac ligand resulted in the replacement of 1 and 2 chlorido ligands in [PtCl2(COD)] to yield 1 and 2, respectively. The structures of the complexes were determined by single crystal X-ray diffraction and showed a distorted square planar coordination geometry around platinum(II). COD acted as a π -donor ligand, while sac was N -coordinated in both complexes. The TG/DTA data indicated that both complexes were thermally stable up to 220°C in air and their thermal decompositions yielded Pt as a final product.

  • In this study, reaction rates of the thermal decomposition reaction of 13 kinds of nitrates, which are main constituents of simulated HLLW (sHLLW), were investigated using thermogravimetrical instrument in a range of room temperature to 1000 °C.

  • Microwave heating was used to prepare optically active thiazole-bearing poly(amide-imide)s. Polymerization reactions were carried out in the molten tetrabutylammonium bromide as a green molten salt medium and triphenyl phosphite as the homogenizer. Structural elucidation of the compounds was performed by Fourier transform infrared and NMR spectroscopic data and elemental analysis results. The polymeric samples were readily soluble in various organic solvents, forming low-colored and flexible thin films via solution casting.

  • The last stage is the continuous decomposition of lignin at higher temperature up to 580 oC. For cellulose, the thermal degradation in air atmosphere has decomposition temperature higher than that in the nitrogen atmosphere but the ending temperature is lower. On the other hand, the thermal decomposition of lignin just occurred from 150 to 560 oC. The reaction for acacia wood demonstrated three stages. The water evaporated at lower than 120 oC in the first stage. The second stage is the devolatilization of biomass (214-322 oC) and the third one (322-420 oC) is the combustion of char.
