Thyroid carcinoma

Bài viết trình bày sự chuyển dạng ung thư biểu mô tuyến giáp bất thục sản (Anaplastic thyroid carcinoma-ATC) từ ung thư biểu mô tuyến giáp thể nhú (Papillary thyroid carcinoma-PTC) đã được ghi nhận, tuy nhiên hiếm khi xảy ra tại hạch di căn. Bài viết báo cáo một trường hợp bệnh nhân nữ 82 tuổi có hạch thượng đòn, cùng với PTC ở tuyến giáp. Sau phẫu thuật, nhiều hạch di căn ATC được tìm thấy trong khi khối u nguyên phát chỉ có thành phần PTC.

Thyroid carcinomas are the most common endocrine malignancies. The cervical lymph node metastasis rate in patients with PTC ranges from 30-80% and there is a significant difference in survival at 14 years for those with and without lymph node metastases. Therefore, the early detection of metastatic cervical lymph nodes plays an essential role in deciding upon the optimal surgical treatment plan for the majority of patients, which will allow careful postoperative screening, adjuvant therapies, and minimizes the chance of disease recurrence, so we conducted this study.

The mainly histological type is papillary-type thyroid carcinoma, followed by mixed papillary-follicular carcinoma and other variants have also been described. Given the rarity of this diagnosis, we present a case of TGDC carcinoma in a female patient, with normal thyroid gland.
