National parks or generally protected areas (PAs) normally hold a high value as a recreational resource or destination. The  scale of activity  in  the  international education  sector  in Australia was estimated  in an  April  2009  report  prepared  by  Access  Economics  for  the  Australian  Council  for  Private  Education and Training (ACPET), entitled The Australian Education Sector and the Economic  Contribution of International Students.  15      That  report  estimated  the  final  economic  impact  of  the  Australian  onshore  international  education  sector  in 2007‐8,  in  terms of  spending by  students on  fees  and  living expenses  plus the expenditure of visitors to students.

Tourism is a dynamic part of our economy. The global hospitality and tourism industry, which blends the lodging, food, attractions, cultural and travel industries, is the world’s largest industry with $4.5 trillion in expenditures generating 212 million jobs. The World Tourism Organization (WTO) currently projects that by the year 2010, 338 million people will be employed in the industry that will grow to $8.4 trillion in expenditures.
