Echinostomiasis is a neglected disease caused by the intestinal flukes (family Echinostomatidae, suborder Echinostomata) and is common in communities in Asian countries, such as India, Indonesia, the Philippines, China, Malaysia, Singapore, Korea, Japan, Thailand, Laos, Cambodia and Vietnam. The genetic markers from the nuclear ribosomal transcription units are commonly used in genetic studies and phylogenetic analyses.

Ebook "Developing listening skills 2: Transcript and Answer Key" is a two-level listening course designed specifically for students at intermediate or higher levels of English. Both the content and difficulty of the exercises throughout the books are appropriate for high school as well as university students. Each unit is based on themes familiar to high school and university students, and exercises in each unit follow a sequenced format that leads students from easier to more challenging listening tasks.

Spatial interactions and insulation of chromatin regions are associated with transcriptional regulation. Domains of frequent chromatin contacts are proposed as functional units, favoring and delimiting gene regulatory interactions. However, contrasting evidence supports the association between chromatin domains and transcription.

Chromosomes are subdivided spatially to delimit long-range interactions into topologically associating domains (TADs). TADs are often flanked by chromatin insulators and transcription units that may participate in such demarcation. Remarkably, single-cell Drosophila TAD units correspond to dynamic heterochromatin nanocompartments that can self-assemble.

As core units of organ tissues, cells of various types play their harmonious rhythms to maintain the homeostasis of the human body. It is essential to identify the characteristics of cells in human organs and their regulatory networks for understanding the biological mechanisms related to health and disease.

The ecdysone inducible system was generated for checking the toxicity of target gene which was transected into the cells. The transcription unit, modified ecdysone receptor (IND) was cloned into vector pcDNA-Dest40 to form the new inducible expression plasmid pDest40-IND via cloning technique. A clear band with size about 487bp of PCR product indicated the success of amplification IND promoter.

RNA-seq and its variant differential RNA-seq (dRNA-seq) are today routine methods for transcriptome analysis in bacteria. While expression profiling and transcriptional start site prediction are standard tasks today, the problem of identifying transcriptional units in a genome-wide fashion is still not solved for prokaryotic systems.

Bacterial operons are considerably more complex than what were thought. At least their components are dynamically rather than statically defined as previously assumed. Here we present a computational study of the landscape of the transcriptional units (TUs) of E. coli K12, revealed by the available genomic and transcriptomic data, providing new understanding about the complexity of TUs as a whole encoded in the genome of E. coli K12.

Spermatogonial Stem Cells (SSCs) are unipotent adult stem cells, defined as the undifferentiated stem cells located along the basement membrane of the seminiferous tubules. This present study is aimed to carry out the culture and characterization of SSCs in pre-pubertal age group of mice. Isolation of SSCs was done by two-step enzymatic digestion method and was seeded in a six-well plate. In primary culture (P0), colony forming unit was observed on day four post incubation. Mice Spermatogonial Stem Cells (mSSCs) adherence was observed on day eight post incubation.

Wood basic density (WBD), the biomass of plant cell walls per unit volume, is an important trait for elite tree selection in kraft pulp production. Here, we investigated the correlation between WBD and wood volumes or wood properties using 98 open-pollinated, 2.4 to 2.8 year-old hybrid Eucalyptus (Eucalyptus urophylla x E. grandis). Transcript levels of lignocellulose biosynthesis-related genes were studied.

The decoy approach against nuclear factor kB (NF-kB) is a useful tool to alter NF-kB dependent gene expression using synthetic oligonucleotides (ODNs) carrying NF-kB specific cis-elements. Unfortunately, ODNs are not stable and need to be extensively modified to be used in vivo or ex vivo. We have previously evaluated the possible use of peptide nucleic acids (PNAs) as decoy molecules. The backbone of PNAs is composed of N-(2-aminoethyl)glycine units, rendering these molecules resistant to both nucleases and proteases.

Haematopoiesis, the differentiation of haematopoietic stem cells and progenitors into various lineages, involves complex interactions of transcription factors that modulate the expression of downstream genes and mediate proliferation and differentiation signals. Commitment of pluripotent haematopoietic stem cells to the erythroid lineage induces erythropoiesis, the production of red blood cells. This process involves a concerted progression through an erythroid burst forming unit (BFU-E), an erythroid colony forming unit (CFU-E), proerythroblast and an erythroblast....

Carbamoylphosphate synthetase-I is the flux-determining enzyme of the ornithine cycle, and neutralizes toxic ammonia by converting it to urea. An 80 bp glucocorticoid response unit located 6.3 kb upstream of the trans-cription start site mediates hormone responsiveness and liver-specific expression of carbamoylphosphate synthetase-I.

Heat shock genes respond to moderate heat stress by a wave of transcrip-tion. The induction phase is accompanied by the massive eviction of histones, which later reassemble with DNA during the ensuing phase of transcription downregulation. In this article, we identify determinants of this reassembly throughout the heat shock protein 104 gene (HSP104) tran-scription unit.
