Type of fishery

This paper uses econometrics models to estimate factors affecting the offshore fishing households’ incomes in the Southern Central Coast of Vietnam. We estimate two basic models: one with total income as the dependent variable and the other with per capita income as the dependent variable. Since heteroscedasticity is in present, the study employs Ordinary Least Squares (OLS) estimations with Robust Standard Errors (OLSR).

Objectives of the research: Identification of species composition, ichthyofaunistic diversity of Bang Giang – Ky Cung river basin. Cataloguing of fish species according to types of populated aquatic ecosystems and habitats, distribution characteristics, determining the geographic distribution of Bang Giang - Ky Cung fishery.

This research was implemented in the fish hatchery of the College of Aquaculture and Fisheries, Can Tho University from July 2007 to September 2007. Two indoor experiments were conducted for duration of 30 days. Whisker sheatfish fries were nursed in 35 L plastic tanks at a density of 2.5 fry/ L. Experiment 1 was designed to evaluate the effects of different live feed diets on acceptability, growth and survival rate of the fries. The experiment was randomly set up with 4 treatments, 3 replications each.
