Universal sampling approach

This study examined four demotivating factors heavily influencing the progress of legal English major students acquiring legal English at Hanoi Law University. There were 222 representative legal English samples selected by Slovin’s formula over the population of 430 students, who were in K45, K46, and K47 at Hanoi Law University in a mixed-methods approach.

This study tends to investigate and assess the average waiting time (WT) in Dubai primary healthcare services centers. Healthcare centers will face critical problems if WT is not solved properly. Accordingly, this study tries to dig a deep insight on such problem and provides proper suggestions to reduce WT. An Electronic Medical Record audit is used to count the patients’ WT during a four-week period in health care service centers employing a universal sampling approach.

The study seeks to define the role of management bias on the weak performance of employees. The research sample comprised of 107 male and female employees. To achieve this research purpose, there were 79 questionnaires valid for statistical analysis, adopting the descriptive approach. Questionnaire was used to measure the effect of management bias on employees’ weak performance.

The present study was conducted in two state agricultural universities i.e., one from north and one from south part of India. The universities were selected purposively based on the utilization of ET for creating better teaching approaches among teachers. Teachers of these two universities were randomly selected as a respondent from various departments.30 respondents from one university and 30 from other, thus the sample size of the study being 60. Data was collected through interview schedule and collected data were subjected to appropriate statistical analysis.

Recent wide acceptance of e-Portfolios has occurred because researchers believe it helps promote students’ learning in higher education. This study uses goal orientation theory to investigate the relationship between goal orientations, metacognitive strategies, and enjoyment when students use ePortfolio. This paper contributes to research by goal orientation, metacognitive strategies and enjoyment to explain student learning behavior when using ePortfolio to providing further evidence. A sample of 219 university students took part in this research to verify the proposed model.

A measurement of the underlying event (UE) activity in proton–proton collisions at a center-of-mass energy of 7 TeV is performed using Drell–Yan events in a data sample corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 2.2 fb−1, collected by the CMS experiment at the LHC. The activity measured in the muonic final state (qq → μ + μ −) is corrected to the particle level and compared with the predictions of various Monte Carlo generators and hadronization models.

This report documents a recent workshop1 at which approximately 85 biomedical scientists, math- ematicians, and statisticians shared their experiences in modeling aspects of cellular function, disease states, and neuroscience. The topics were chosen to provide a sampling of the rapidly emerging research at the interface of the mathematical and biomedical sciences, and this summary has been prepared as an introduction to those topics for mathematical scientists who are exploring the opportunities from bio- medical science.

A full-fledged study will begin in 2010, aiming to follow approximately 60,000 children throughout Japan until age 12. First, some ten Unit Centers will be selected throughout Japan. They will be comprised of social medicine, obstetrics and gynecology, and pediatric departments at universities and research institutes. With cooperation from regional medical organizations, these Unit Centers will be responsible for enrolling pregnant women, collecting biological samples, and other operations that require contact with the target population.
