In the present study, PLS has been used to identify and quantify tetracycline and chlortetracycline without separation steps. In mixtures of one or two components, the use of chemometric tools avoided spectral interference between the target substances. The predictive ability of calibration models was evaluated and showed satisfactory results.

The solution plasma process (SPP) is a revolutionary approach for production of nanomaterials employing plasma discharge in liquid. The SPP can quickly deionize metal into the neutral state in the absence of a reducing agent. Selenium nanoparticles are created in solution plasma in this investigation.

A supramolecular solvent microextraction procedure was established for the separation/preconcentration of uranium(VI) (U(VI)) prior to its determination by UV-Vis spectrophotometry. 1-(2-Pyridylazo)-2-naphthol (PAN) was used to form a red chelate (U-PAN) with U(VI) at pH 10. U-PAN was extracted by undecanol in tetrahydrofuran. All the parameters that affect extraction efficiency like solution pH, amount of ligand, type and volume of supramolecular solvent, sample volume, and diverse ion effect were optimized.

Graphene/cobalt–manganese oxides nanocomposites were prepared from their precursor through chemical reduction where NaOH was used as a reducing agent. The obtained GNs/Co-Mn nanocomposites were used as photocatalyst for the photodegradation of Neutral Red Chloride (NRC) dye in aqueous solution under sunlight as a function of time and catalyst dosage. The morphology and photodegradation study was carried out using scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and UV-VIS spectrophotometry, respectively.

A simple and sensitive supramolecular solvent-based dispersive liquid–liquid microextraction method was described for the separation/preconcentration and spectrophotometric detection of rhodamine B. The microextraction method, which was realized at ambient temperature for the detection of rhodamine B, was carried out by using supramolecular solvents such as tetrahydrofuran and decanoic acid. The method was based on analyses of rhodamine B by using UV-Vis spectrophotometry at 558 nm.

Today, nanoparticles are effectively used in different areas. Initially, physical and chemical methods were used in the synthesis of nanoparticles. Biosynthesis (green synthesis) has emerged as an alternative to overcome the toxic effects of chemically synthesized nanoparticles. In this study, green synthesis of silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) with the leaf extract of Anthurium andraeanum was performed. UV-Vis spectrophotometry, scanning transmission electron microscopy, and XRD were applied to characterize the biosynthesized nanoparticles.

A method based on supramolecular liquid phase microextraction has been developed for the preconcentration and determination of trace levels of Sudan I. 1-decanol and tetrahydrofuran were used as supramolecular solvent components. Trace levels of Sudan I were extracted into the extraction solvent phase at pH = 4.0 Analytical parameters such as pH value, supramolecular solvent volume, ultrasonication, centrifugation, model solution volume, matrix effects have been optimized. The limit of detection and the limit of quantification values for Sudan I were calculated as 1.74 μg L−1 and 5.

This paper describes sensitive, accurate and precise spectrophotometric, TLC-spectrodensitometric and high performance liquid chromatographic (HPLC) methods for simultaneous determination of olanzapine and fluoxetine HCl. Two spectrophotometric methods were developed, namely; first derivative (D1 ) and derivative ratio (DD1 ) methods. The TLC method employed aluminum TLC plates precoated with silica gel GF254 as the stationary phase and methanol: toluene:ammonia (7:3:0.1, by volume) as the mobile phase, where the chromatogram was scanned at 235 nm.

A biomimetic method of gold nanoparticles synthesis utilizing the highly invasive aquatic weed pistia (Pistia stratiotes) is presented. In an attempt to utilize the entire plant, the efficacy of the extracts of all its parts – aerial and submerged – was explored with different proportions of gold (III) solution in generating gold nanoparticles (GNPs). The progress of the synthesis, which occurred at ambient temperature and pressure and commenced soon after mixing the pistia extracts and gold (III) solutions, was tracked using UV–visible spectrophotometry.

To develop and evaluate the analgesic effects of the tincture from the Momordica cochinchinensis seeds - Ramulus cinnamomi. Methods: The Momordica cochinchinensis seeds were extracted by the Soxhlet method. Total saponins were determined by UV-Vis spectrophotometry after extracts had been colored with perchloric acid, vanillin in glacial acetic acid. Ramulus cinnamomi were extracted by the percolation. The tincture was made by combining the extract of the Momordica cochinchinensis seeds and Ramulus cinnamomi. The skin irritation of tincture was evaluated in rabbits.

Their structures were determined by extensive spectroscopic analyses including UV, IR, ESI-HRMS, 1D, 2D NMR and specific rotation as well as by comparison of the data with those in the literature. The pKa value in an aqueous solution of (1) was determined by UV-VIS spectrophotometry at 298 K. With the low pKa value 1.29, only the neutral form of (1) was present and responsible for the UV absorption in water at pH 7.

Metformin (1,1-dimethylbiguanide) is an antihyperglycae-mic drug used to normalize glucose concentrations in type 2 diabetes. Furthermore, antioxidant benefits have been reported in diabetic patients treated with metformin. This work was aimed at studying the scavenging capacity of this drug against reactive oxygen species (ROS) like Æ OH and O Æ 2 -free radicals. ROS were produced by gamma radio-lysis of water. The irradiated solutions of metformin were analyzed by UV/visible absorption spectrophotometry.
