Results revealed that different biofertilizer treatments increased the microbial counts (total microbial counts, azotobacter, azospirilla, phosphate dissolving bacteria (PDB) and VAM), the growth parameters (plant height, stem diameter, initiative branching point, number of branches, fresh weight and dry weight) and some chemical constituents such as total chlorophyll, crude protein, crude fiber and ash% compared to untreated plants.

Flax (Linum usitatissimum L.) is a food, fiber and oil seed crop cultivated in cooler regions. The oil content of the seed varies from 33–47%. In India it is grown mainly for seed used for extracting oil. The crop is affected by Alternaria blight caused by Alternaria spp. Different doses of microalgae were applied (@ 1.5, 2.5, 3.5, 4.5, 5.5 and 6.5 kg/acre) with irrigation at critical growth stages of crop (vegetative phase, flowering phase and maturity phase) and observations were recorded on plant growth parameters and per cent disease incidence of Alternaria Blight.

The experiment was conducted in the winter months. Dried tomato slices ground to obtain powder. Dried powder was analyzed for its proximate composition that is moisture, crude fat, crude protein, crude fiber, ash, carbohydrates and energy. The nutritional potential of nine edible plants of tribal of Jharkhand was evaluated by determining proximate composition and micronutrient content. The result showed significance of wild leafy vegetable species as important source of nutrient for rural tribal. Protein content of different wild species ranged from 19.03±0.26 to 31.16±0.20 percent. The crude fiber content was found highest in Polygonum plebijum, while highest ash content was observed in Portulaca oleracea. Among micronutrient content, iron content ranged between 11.88± to 397.
