The study in this paper utilizes Vietnamese firm-level data to investigate the relationship between trade liberalization and the productivity performance of Vietnam’s manufacturing sector. The data covers the years 2007 to 2016 when substantial trade liberalization took place. The semi-parametric approach developed by Levinsohn and Petrin (2003) is used to control for simultaneity bias in the estimation of a production function and to obtain TFP estimates.

The purpose of this study is to examine if CSR practices have a correlation with companies’ performance of the twenty Vietnamese firms. Despite a large number of studies on CSR with the sole focus on emerging economies, this concept in the specific Vietnamese market has yet to receive apprehension and qualified research. Therefore, this paper provides a quantitative approach to study the relationship between CSR and financial performance of Vietnamese firms in three distinct sectors: banking, real estate and food manufacturing.

Manufacturing organizations spend lot of money and time to implement ERP thinking that after implementation, it will lead to increase in work efficiency. The purpose of this paper is to study the characteristics of competitiveness in firms’ sectors of the Greek manufacturing industry, based on firm level accounting and qualitative data attempting to identify key issues regarding Greek SMEs. An unbalanced data set of 407 Greek manufacturing SMEs is implemented, covering the period of 2003-2011 with the use of a multivariate regression model (EGLS) with explanatory variables characterizing firms’ operational activity.

Using firm-level data, this paper examines the effects of foreign firm presence on the exporting behaviour of domestic firms in the Vietnamese manufacturing sector. Applying the Heckman selection model, we find that investment by foreign firms has a negative effect on domestic firms’ decision to export.

This study developed the framework of knowledge spillovers at sector level and investigated these spillover effects of research and development (R&D), foreign direct investment (FDI) and trade activities on sectoral innovation by Spatial Regression Models. Besides, the study examined the spillover effects of sectoral innovation and provincial human resources on firms’ TFP with 7,236 enterprises in 38 sectors of Vietnamese manufacturing industries, located in 62 provinces by Cross-Classified Models.

The panel vector auto regression model is estimated using three main variables related to with profitability, financial liquidity, and financial leverage for 94 manufacturing companies from 2000 to 2017 in Indonesia. The aim is to examine the impact of oil price shocks on the ROA (profitability), CR (financial liquidity), and DER (financial leverage). The impulse reaction function of samples reveals some remarkable results. First, the response of ROA, DER, and CR appears to be consistent in many ways. Second, either Brent oil or WTI oil gives the same result for these variables.

This study investigates the role, characteristics of firm locating in IP and using econometrics model to investigate the impact of firm locating within IPs on its labor productivity. The results prove that IP locating firms account a small percentage in total number of manufacturing firms in Vietnam but play considerable role for manufacturing sector in general and for manufacturing foreign investment in special. Locating in IP has quite significant positive effect on firm's labor productivity.
