Drought stress is one of the most detrimental abiotic stresses that has undeniably negative impacts on the growth and development of soybean plants. According to previous studies, cytokinin-related genes have been proposed to play vital roles in plant response and adaptation to drought stress.

The maximum decrease was recorded under high level of water stress (W2) compared to optimum level of water supply (W0). Application of amino acids and yeast extract significantly increased all measurement studied with exception of leaf water deficit, osmotic potential and proline content characters in favor of yeast application at a rate of 6 g/L compared to untreated plants in the two seasons.

This study investigated the effect of foliar application of putrescine on growth, biochemical, essential oil percent and morpho-anatomical characteristics of Thymus vulgaris L. under water deficit conditions. In pot experiments, plants were grown under two different irrigation levels 70–80% and 30–40% of water holding capacity and foliar sprayed with putrescine at 0, 0.1 and 0.2 mM twice at 10 and 50 days after transplanting.

Drought is an abiotic stress factor that negatively affects plant development and causes economic losses in plant production, and its effect is getting significant every day. Spinach contains a high amount of water and drought stress affects its development as well as causing changes in its biochemical contents. In this study, it is aimed to determine the changes in the morphological, physiological, and biochemical contents of spinach grown under deficit irrigation conditions in different stages of development.

Vitamins are regarded as vital growth substances. They act as cofactors of various key enzymes involved in metabolism and also have vital influence on metabolic activities of plants. They are believed to play a significant role in plants against abiotic stresses, particularly during water stress. The current experiment was conducted to evaluate the role of exogenously applied thiamin on two white clover cultivars, Super Late Fsd and Layalpur Late, at varying [100% (control), 80%, and 60% field capacities] water regimes.

Citrus plants are commercially propagated by grafting, with the rootstock variety influencing a number of horticultural traits, including drought tolerance. Among the different rootstock varieties available for citrus propagation, ‘Rangpur’ lime is known to confer enhanced tolerance to drought as compared to other citrus rootstocks.

Water deficit and soil salinity substantially influence plant growth and productivity. When occurring individually, plants often exhibit reduced growth resulting in yield losses. The simultaneous occurrence of these stresses enhances their negative effects. Unraveling the molecular mechanisms of combined abiotic stress responses is essential to secure crop productivity under unfavorable environmental conditions.

Phytohormones are key regulators of plant growth, development, and signalling networks involved in responses to diverse biotic and abiotic stresses. Transcriptional reference maps of hormone responses have been reported for several model plant species such as Arabidopsis thaliana, Oryza sativa, and Brachypodium distachyon.

Drought stress is a major limiting factor of soybean [Glycine max (L.) Merr.] production around the world. Soybean plants can ameliorate this stress with improved water-saving, sustained N2 fixation during water deficits, and/or limited leaf hydraulic conductance.

Little information is available on the application of marker-trait association (MTA) analysis for traits related to drought tolerance in smooth bromegrass. The objectives of this study were to identify marker loci associated with important agronomic traits and drought tolerance indices as well as fining stable associations in a diverse panel of polycross derived genotypes of smooth bromegrass.

Chickpea (Cicer arietinum L.) is the second most widely grown pulse and drought (limiting water) is one of the major constraints leading to about 40–50% yield losses annually. Dehydration responsive element binding proteins (DREBs) are important plant transcription factors that regulate the expression of many stressinducible genes and play a critical role in improving the abiotic stress tolerance.
