Highly efficient transfer hydrogenation of 4-Methoxybenzaldehyde over supported silver nanoparticles
This study focused on the preparation of silver nanoparticles embedded on the supports such as bentonites, zeolites, activated carbon, zinc oxide, and aluminum oxide. Catalytic activity was evaluated via the transfer hydrogenation of 4-methoxybenzaldehyde. The results will be presented in this report.

In this research, in an attempt to make use of the kaolin resources in Vietnam, we present a synthetic process of zeolite A via hydrothermal from kaolinite, together with the modification process of zeolite A using different metallic cations. The characteristics of the prepared zeolite LTAs such as chemical composition and crystalline structure, as well as their catalytic activity in the methanation reaction of carbon dioxide (CO2) to methane (CH4) were extensively investigated.

A crucial turn in the investigation on NO decomposition occured when Iwamoto et al [1] first found that copper-exchanged zeolites, in particular Cu-ZSM-5 zeolites, were effective catalysts for NO decomposition. These catalysts have been the object of the most active investigations ever since. Due to small pore size of zeolites, the reactant diffusion seems play an important part in the reaction kinetics. This article is aimed to evaluate the role of diffusion by means of activation energy of NO decomposition on Me/Zeolites ZSM-5 and mordenit.

The basic properties of zeolites were studied by using quantum-chemical calculations. The obtained results have demonstrated that the basicity of zeolites in the forms of alkali cations (Li, Na or K) is increased with increasing cation radius. While the Si/Al ratio in the framework increases, the basicity of zeolites decreases. The application of adsorption method using acidic gases (CO2) for determining basicity may be suitable for solid bases without exhanged ion, but not for zeolites.

Investigations of kinetics of p-xylene deep oxidation on CuO/ -Al2O3 and CuO/ZSM-5 have been carried out. Specific surface area and pore size of catalyst samples as well as metallic state characteristics and catalytic properties of copper have been established. Catalyst CuO/ZSM-5 has been found to be more active than the first one, but it expressed lower stability because of less stable active form of Cu2+ on zeolite surface.

A new method for the synthesis of nanosized zeolites in organic solvents, such as formamide and toluene as crystallization medium instead of water, in the presence of organosilane has been developed. Organic solvents have a great impact on the synthesis of nanozeolites.
