Design of CRISPR/Cas9 system for editing OsNRAMP7 involved in metal transport in TBR225 rice variety
Rice (Oryza sativa L.) is one of the major food crops but is deficient in minerals such as Zn. In rice, there were eight genes belonging to the Natural resistance-associated macrophage protein (NRAMP) family, of which OsNRAMP1, OsNRAMP4, OsNRAMP5, OsNRAMP6, and OsNRAMP8 were reported to transport metals such as iron (Fe), zinc, mangan (Mn).

Skin lesions and dermatoses in cattle are often associated with infections due to bacteria, fungi or environmental risk factors. Dermatoses with genetic etiology have been described in cattle. Among these rare disorders, there are primary congenital dermatoses that are associated with inherited nutritional deficiencies, such as bovine hereditary zinc deficiency or zinc deficiency-like syndrome.

The C2H2 zinc finger protein ZAT12 has been classified as a plant core abiotic stress response gene in the early response to multiple stresses. ZAT12 links the iron deficiency and oxidative stress responses through the direct interaction with/and negative regulation of a central regulator - FIT. For further research on the regulation of the ZAT12 protein in planta, a huge quantity of ZAT12 proteins is required to inject into mice for the generation of ZAT12 antiserum.

Phosphorus (P) deficiency limits crop production worldwide. Crops differ in their ability to acquire and utilise the P available. The aim of this study was to determine root traits (root exudates, root system architecture (RSA), tissue-specific allocation of P, and gene expression in roots) that (a) play a role in P-use efficiency and (b) contribute to large shoot zinc (Zn) concentration in Brassica oleracea.

In acidic soils, aluminum (Al) competing with Zn results in Zn deficiency in plants. Zn is essential for auxin biosynthesis. Zn-mediated alleviation of Al toxicity has been rarely studied, the mechanism of Zn alleviation on Al-induced photoinhibition in photosystems remains unclear.

Deficiency of micronutrients during the last three decades has grown in both, magnitude and extent. This has become a major constraint to production and productivity of vegetables in general and onion in particular. Bhonde et al., (1995) evaluated the effect of zinc, copper and boron on onion crop. Bulb size and yield as well as quality of bulb enhanced when micronutrients were applied in combinations instead of their single application.micronutrients, Zinc and Boron, Quality of Onion

Micronutrients are not only essential for plant growth and development but are also integral to human health. Fe and Zn deficiencies cause serious nutritional problems in human beings. Increasing the micronutrient content of grain by bio-fortification offers great potential to combat micronutrient deficiency and dramatically impact human health. To find out the most suitable and profitable method of bio-fortification in aromatic rice with Zinc and Iron, a field experiment was conducted during kharif, 2019 at the Research Farm, Bihar Agricultural University, Sabour, Bhagalpur.

The major role of Zinc in biological systems is, maintaining structural and functional integrity of biological membranes, protein synthesis and gene expression. Nearly half of the soils where cereals are grown have levels of available Zinc low enough to cause Zinc deficiency (Alloway, 2009).

Zinc is required for plant growth, as an activator of several enzymes and is directly involved in the biosynthesis of growth regulators such as auxin which promotes production of more plant cells and biomass that will be stored in the plant organs especially in seeds and their deficiencies may be one of the important reasons of poor yields in light textured soils (Singh and Raj, 2001). Keeping this in view a study was conducted on effect of zinc and sulphur on growth and yields of clusterbean.

Pearl millet-wheat cropping system is important cropping system of northern India and is traditionally a component of the dry land system, usually grown in soils with depleted in sandy areas, where deficiency of Zn is a common occurrence. In the present study it was found that the higher level of Zn (10 kg/ha) did not improve the protein yield over 7.5 kg Zn/ha in both crop seasons.

Among individual nutrients, the soils of Chittoor were found to be deficient in available zinc to an extent of 33 per cent and boron in 21% samples.

Rice-wheat (Oryza sativa L.-Triticum aestivum L.) rotation is the major production system in Asia, covering about 18 million ha. Continuous and conventional RWC system practice has witnessed a significant slowdown in the yield growth rate. The sustainability of this important cropping system is at risk due to second-generation problems (low fertility status, multiple nutrient deficiencies, and imbalanced use of fertilizers, ground water depletion at faster rate, soil salinization, and inadequate system diversity).

Mineral deficiency mostly zinc is a well-documented problem in food and forage crops affecting the crop production and subsequently the human and animal health. Oat (Avena sativa L.) is winter crop in many parts of the world and is used as multipurpose crop for grain and forage. Oat is sensitive to Zn, which is major dry fodder and thereby causes Zn deficiency in animals.

Plant nutrition plays a major role in quantitative and qualitative crop production in bringing sustainability and plants require seventeen essential elements for their normal growth and development. Among these, those elements required smaller in quantity is called micronutrients (Fe, Cu, Zn, Mn, B, Cl, Mo and Ni). Micronutrients are essentially as important as macronutrients to have better growth, yield and quality in plants.
