This article investigates the reaction of investors in the Bahrain Bourse toward two types of signals from the telecommunication sector: Marketing and financial announcements made by corporate management. Using an event study, six events that were announced over the period of 2011-2014 by Batelco, the only listed Telecommunication Company in the Bahrain Bourse, have been thoroughly analyzed. Results highlight that, regardless of the type of signal, investors exhibited significant reactions to all the announcements.

This study explores the relationship between top manager characteristics and company corporate social responsibility (CSR) performance. Using integral CSR, corporate governance, corporate commitment, social participation and the environmental protection index, we found that the academic degree held by a top manager is the main factor that influences company CSR performance, especially events related to environmental protection. The positive association between top managers’ working experience and CSR is significant only for the environmental protection index.

This empirical study analyses the determinants of capital adequacy of Cypriot banks mainly during the period of financial crisis using multiple linear regression. Specifically, the study focuses on certain features of banks (risk, liquidity, return etc.) to determine whether they affect the volatility of capital adequacy. The study provides supportive evidence that there is a negative statistically significant relationship regarding banksize and risk and a positive regarding the level of provisions and percentage of Net Interest Margin.
